That is what I used to do a hundred years ago when I used to play, at least that is how long it seems. I had one deck that I had lots of fun with, not sure if I ever won with it though. It was a 5 color deck and artifacts. I had a bunch of the dual lands and 90% of the creatures, enchantments, and instants were one casting cost (like kird apes, sprites, and such). Then I tossed in all my wrath of gods, armageddon, the artifacts that would destroy everything on the table too (? can't remember what it was called?). For extra fun, I threw in my favorite creature from each color too. (shivan dragon (I cheated and put in my 2-headed giant too), vampire, serra angel, and others). My plan was to start fast with all my one mana casting and reset the game with my wrath of gods and such, then start fast again.

I far and away prefer "theme" decks to "killer" decks. One of my old fav themes was the black Monster Movie deck which had monsters from B-Movies throughout it. It didn't play very consistently, but it told a really cool story. My oldest fav is my 5 color Wurms and Sepents deck. All 5 colors and artifacts were included as were 2 of every multi-land (yeah my cards are that old) along with multiple multi-colored cards too. It either played really well or really poorly. There wasn't much middle groud because I either got the right mana or not. Also had one of each mox in it and a black lotus at one point ages past. Led to a first turn shivan dragon summoning in one game that made my opponent's eyes grow wider than saucers. Hahahaha

Aside from the occasional permission deck (note to all: Do not play a permission deck in a multi-player game as then *everyone* gangs up on you!!), I don't like making decks that remove my opponents ability to play the game at all, or give myself so many free turns that it just isn't fun for the person I am playing.

i just started playing this year. It gives us something to do in school.

Of my decks, I have a Black/ White infect. its got a lot of low cost creature so i can start swinging early and often, 3 Phyraxian Juggernaughts and a Toxic nim for beafy stuff.
Then the Blue/White Nill (make opponant discard entire deck to win)/control deck that I need to retool so its more eficent.
Then I have a Green/White 2012 deck that i got for christmas that one of my freinds likes to use (he doesn't have a deck ) , its got a 2/2 hex proof in it he likes to give spirit mantle (protection from creatures).
Then my Green deck that was one of the box decks, that i retooled (was Green/Red), lots of spiders, i remeber my freind swug sith all his creature, i wethered the attack, leaving myself with 4 2/2 creature, and him with nothing that could block, so i used Over Run (+3/+3 and trample).
then i have a red deck that i just need mana for, its a Demon deck that sould prove interesting.

I try to keep all my decks standard so I can take any of them to FNM.

Raging Ravener

Nottingham

I used to play a Blue/White Sliver-Mill deck, which primarily involved a lot of Hissing Slivers and the defensive ones forming a nice thick wall while they chipped away at the opponent's deck. Half the fun was seeing how many opponents would ragequit just on seeing the combination emerge. It wasn't all that powerful, just fun/annoying and asymetric.
