Interesting new part. Octavius seems a tad more trustworthy, considering he could taken Chaos' side and done a sizeable amount of damage to the Black Templars right there by killing the Emperor's Champion and letting the Iron Warriors win the fight. Nevertheless he could just be waiting for some grand opportunity to really hurt the Imperium. I look forward to the new part.

Still not sold on Octavious...first he went from neophyte to sword brethren super fast, and then he had a thunder hammer? Either he's chaos and hidding it really really well from the BT or he's inquisition.
Just a guess though.

Lol I love how they stop to eat mid battle! Seeing as how the Iron Warriors attacked it might have been a "is he here" test so I'm leaning toward heretic but I think it would be random and hillarious if he is a member of the inquisition sent to kill this Equitius.

Just a thought.
Just because you have a cold smile doesn't mean that they are a heretic or have evil intentions, it is just presumed that in 40K that someone like that is bad.

I have to ask if you play a BT army or read any of the fluff for them? The EC is supposed to be the greatest fighter in the Crusade but not actually the leader. Here he seems so much weaker than normal Marine, needing others help to dispatch those he would normally have no problems.

Look at the Codex and Helsreach for better understanding of the Chapter, the way they work etc. They are zealots for a reason, no prisoners being taken, crusaders. I also find a 'second heresy' weak story idea. At the most looking at an incursion or precursor to Black Crusade.

I don't want to come across as too harsh but I really don't think this is a good representation of the BT as a whole and what they are like, seems more like a IG story in places.

The EC can be anyone. It is a marine who had a vision. So Innitiate Bobby who just got done with training after being a neophyte sees a vision. Now he is the EC. Actually BT would take a prisoner. They showed compasion to non-tainted people on a planet that was covered with cannibals. They took the Fallen DA prisoner. I see no problem with this. It really doesn't sound too much like a second heresy (even though that is what was written) but more like a coup. With various officials allowing Chaos Marines into the inner depths of the imperium.
