He needed it, he was pretty weak compared to where he used to be, and completely outclassed by a lot of the newer tanky/dps champs, like the aforementioned Wu-kong or Jaran IV.
I'm excited to try out Skarner, I just haven't had gak for time lately. I might get some time tonight, we will see.
Yeah, I think he is much better in a lane then jungle, though his skillset does seem like it could sustain jungling, it would only make sense if you had 2 carries that NEED solo lanes, and no one else to Jungle, which makes me think you are going to be hosed anyway.
I wish I could get real details on his skills, ie. AP/AD ratios, duration and effect of his shield, etc. I just haven't had a chance to test him personally yet.

Got a chance to use him last night and had a lot of fun. Not sure how competitive of a champion he is, but I don't know if anyone has a funner ability layout. He does solid enough damage if you build him decently, though I think it is going to take some time and experimentation to find what I really like. I need to take him out against people to find out what he is really capable of, its too easy to pull bots into your tower, lol.
