There are currently only 2 known chapters that possess Stormraven's AFAIK; Blood Angels and Grey Knights. The Blood Angels do not turn in any significant numbers, let alone alongside such equipment. I doubt the Dark Mechanicus could come close to making another Stormraven just from possessing one; that's the thing with STC's.

Agreed. I really don't get the neglect the Word Bearers get, rules-wise. They're a cool looking army heavy on one of the main themes of CSM (proud service of dark deities) and there's not one rule, unit, wargear or even named character of them in the current books.

In Boxing matches, you actually get paid to take a dive and make the other guy look good.
In Warhammer 40K, you're expected to pay cash out of your pocket for the privilege of having Marines and IG trample all over your Xenos/Chaos. |

Dont like special characters(specially f you need to field one to represent your chapter/legion)
I want special rules for each legion and for renegades and characters with more options.

You could say the same for the Alpha Legion, Night Lords and Iron Warriors surely?

Tis' true.
I said word bearers since i play them, but any of the chaos legions that worship chaos undivided are left out, and fluff wise they all have unique traits and should each have a champion and at least a small set of rules. (similar to 4th ed.)

The Alpha Legion don't need an IC because all of the existing CSM ICs are Alpha Legionnaires and nobody knows about them. I think a cool Alpha Legion specific IC would have the power similar to the Changeling in that he could force an enemy squad to shoot at his choosing.

I would personally love a Word Bearers special character that would allow you to take name Demons in your army as troops. Also gives the same rules as chaplains to the squad he join. give him a corrupted crozius arcanum with some kool special rules

Really I think we should be able to summon named daemon's anyway, BUt GW doesn't agree
I dug up my old 4th ed codex, and the Demagogue skill would be cool to see used in the new dex as a chapter special agian.

I get the distinct feeling M'kar will be in the next codex.
Special rules:
Worf Effect: In order to establish them as a badass, M'kar must assault any Independent Character or Monstrous Creature in the opposing army if he can. Once he does, immediately remove M'kar from play as a casualty.

If Kaldor draigo is in the opposing army, then driago will immediatly destroy any unit he assaults or shoots, and all of M'kars stats are reduced to 1.

That being said, there wouldnt really be chaos marines as we know them without the word bearers so they are a bit more important than some of the others, not by much but they do need to get a small amount more credit and attention than some of the other legions who only really turned traitor because they got convinced by horus or the word bearers. Automatically Appended Next Post: ZacktheChaosChild wrote:Why should they get rid of all the Special Characters?
Im not saying get rid of all of them im only saying that they should be refreshed with some being swapped out with more active chaos champions, i mean when youy compare the importance of Erebus to say, Lucious, you have to wonder why he is in the codex instead of Erebus when really he's done squat when you compare his achievments to Erebus.
I mau have said Erebua to many times in that sentence

Alpha Legion should just get "Alpharius". "Alpharius" has no statline and costs no points. You do not need a model to represent "Alpharius". "Alpharius" counts as your mandatory HQ. Done.

Ok, that sounds silly but it's actually really cool.
If you gave a points value to that option and it also buffed all your squad leaders with an extra wound, you'd have decentralized leadership! The many-headed hydra and all that.

Im all for new characters from the other Legions and other prominent warbands. But I think your assumption that some of these guys that didn't play a huge roll in the heresy get too much face time is a bit flawed. the Heresy is over these are the guys who have made a name for themselves in the 10,000 years since. I would just like them to flesh them out a bit more. tell us what Lucius has been up to. but i do agree that it would be nice to see a few more new names.

I really don't like Lucius from a fluff perspective and think that Bile should represent the EC and introduce:
Erebus for Word Bearers (Extra daemons :O)
A fancy warsmith that unlocks Basalisks and makes Vindicator more readily avaliable for Iron Warriors
A Leader for the Alpha legion which unlocks Cultists and possibly grants some Loyalist rule or outlaws summoned daemons
A night lords character w/ Jump Pack adn allows Raptors as Troops.

look up a fandex by Scott "Zeruel13" Addley. I found a link to this once on here, and I think I downloaded it from scribed (sp?) This is what I think the 5th ed Chaos codex should have been. There are characters for each legion - Kor Phaeron (Word Bearers), Arkos the Faithless (Alpha Legion), Krieg Acerbus (Nightlords), Warsmith Honsou (Iron Warriors) Plus the standard cast of CSM characters

THey had no mention because characters like Aximand were invented for the Books and did not exist at the time Codex CSM was written.
