I'm not disagreeing with your comments, but for some reason this one took me ages to get the arms in the right position so I'm a bit reluctant to change anything on it although - chainmace, hmmm.......

I feel your pain (with the marine arms).
Also, like said above a group shot would be cool!

PS: your next mission would be to make some World Eater Terminators

Slugga. I'll post more pics and some group shots when I've started painting for real, I am, as I write this waiting for the primer to dry. As for terminators, check out my gallery for a squad of five FW World Eaters with lightning claws.

What exactly do you get with that Forgeworld kit? Unfortunately they don't really tell you exactly what the components are and all oo the pics show constructed figures with none of exactly what you get.

I'm not gonna lie, the front-on shot of the 'Zerker who's charging/thrusting is absolutely terrifying. Fantastic minis all around. Can't wait to see them painted.

AAAAAARGH! DISASTER HAS STRUCK! Primed them all and the primer came out all lumpy! There was alot of cussin I can tell you. Undercoat didn't help, and shading with and ink wash made it worse! Tried scraping some paint of one and repriming it by brush but it just looks Gack Investigating stripping them all with 'simple green', if anybody can offer any further advice (Have just read WarOne's article) then it would be much appreciated. AAAAAARGH!

Scipio, in this kit, you get: 10 heads, 10 torsos and 10 sets of shoulder pads. You need to supply arms, legs, bases, weapons and backpacks. They do look much better than the standard marines, as long as you don't f them up with dodgy primer.

Oh no!

WarOne's article is pretty much the best way to do it IMHO.
I hope the models will be ok.

Simple green works. It might take several baths for you to get there, but it does work. Just be *incredibly* careful when you are brushing it clean so you don't snap anything

On that note, i been told superclean works too.... except.. its a bit caustic, so you may find yourself having to reassemble everything depending on what glue you used if you used superclean.

Thanks poda_t, a litre of simple green is winging its way to me as we speak. Feeling a bit better about it today, knowing I should be able to salvage them. Also feeling good 'cause the land raider I won on e-bay for the unit turned up today! - just got to order the FW bits.

Really sorry to hear about the disaster. I overcame a smiliar situation not long ago with my FW Eldar Titans. I have since used Gunze Sangyo 'Mr. Surfacer 1000' ever since. Probably the best primer I've ever used.

Just be sure to be _incredibly_ ptient. Don't expect everything to lift off immediately. Drop it in for a week, carefully brush down, rinse off, and plop it back in. I always take a month to strip my minies because after that month, it always pays off.

I've done the rush 24-hour jobs, it works, but this is a hobby where many many things need doing. At any given time I am running 30 models through stripping, and trying to paint up 60, complete building another 20.... planning conversions, schematizing buildings.... the list is long.... better just to be patient and give the chemichals more time to do their magick properly.

Salvation is at hand! Just in case anyone is still watching, the Simple Green has worked its magic, most of the disastrous primer is removed. I've still got a little bit of scraping to do, but hopefully I should have some primed and under coated, lump free Bezerkers over the weekend. In the meantime - I've painted this (still got another 9 to do!)

These are actually bits of bike spoke, it's just the right diameter and is really strong, the only problem is it's quite hard to cut.

Thanks GiraffeX. The armour is dead flesh base (Vallejo), washed with skin wash ink (Vallejo) shaded a bit with a mix of dead flesh and an unlabelled pot of darkish green I got from a car boot sale, then all the edges of the damage etc highlighted with more dead flesh.

Very nice poses on the berzerkers. I like how the FW upgrade set looks even though you have your models in non-static positions.

The double handed chain axes, the chain glaive and the thrusting poses are my favorites.

Sorry to hear of the primer troubles but glad to know you were able to salvage the terminators.

I'll look forward to seeing the squad painted.

Thanks,
Tom

No! From a bicycle that you ride! But don't cut some out of your bike wheel or it may collapse! (actually you could sacrifice a spoke - but you may get a bit of a kick/buckle in your wheel), go to a bike shop and get one, they only cost a pound or two.

The terminators were ok - I primed these after I ditched the can of bum primer. Now primer troubles are hopefully over - I've just finished scraping off the last of the paint and have re-primed the Bezerkers - they are drying as I type this. Hopefully basecoat tomorrow and the real painting can begin!

Capitansolstice wrote:Amazing dynamic posing

Thanks! I'm gonna do another 10 as I've just taken delivery of another land raider for them (can't have an empty land raider - mind you I've got plenty of terminators to fill it with) and my mate gave me some more Orky chain axe type bits - it would be a waste if I didn't make use of them.

The terminator is just Nurgle - it's got nothing to do with Khorne! It was just something I was doing whilst the bezerkers where having a bath in Simple Green. But thanks for all your comments. If anybody wants to get these they are again the FW conversion kits - I just added a few bits like the heads hanging off the chain around his waist, the disease/pustules on his arms and legs etc.

Update on the 'zerkers - I've now successfully primed them - base layer going on today
