Only one question...
Blue for the center of a blood angel's stormraven? Why?

Otherwise, looks beautiful!

@Rennoc215 The colors for the Blood Falcons are based off the style of the Knights of Blood. They have a metalic silver as the center color and the standard red on the outside. Since I am using a Falcon as the symbol of the chapter and a Cresent moon a deep blue seemed quite approprate.

@Brother Azul The base is one aspect but also the diaroma I have planed which will have the associated Dreadnought (almost finished as well) as well as a squad of Tactical marines pulling wounded out of the raven on reinforced stretchers. There will be 1-3 dead marines in the raven littered on the floor with 102 marines pulling them out through the front hatch.

As for the trator guard, I am repersenting them with a mangled a Baneblade (one of the variants) with the 8 pointed star of chaos and all the Aquilla's burned out.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
@zxyogi No it would most deffintly have to be repaired on the ground.

I have put alot of love into this and I am happy to see people enjoy my work. I will be doing a tutorial on how to enact actual battle damage but so many people seem a little to queasy to even try this. It is alot of fun just coming up with an idea after you have done the battle damage to give it a story.

When this is all done I will have fluff to go with the pictures.

Yes it has. Since I specialize in cusom mods on models and even more so for models of this size category, and the simple fact that not many people have posted or even shown their work on damge like this (aside from the rare bolter wound here and there or the GW "How to Paint Tanks" book) I decided to try this out. So far I am more than pleased with my work. The only sad thing is that my painting skills lack the depth I need to make this spectacular.

I think you should take a chunk out of the wing, with mangled metal hanging all over the place, a-la WWII heavy bombers:

is it possible to take so much damage and still fly?

that must also hurt like hell to be shot in the leg while flying a plane. Especially by a bullet that went through the whole plane.

great work though, she defiantly appears beaten up

Modern A-10s can fly with big chair sized holes in the wings, one of the engines exploded, etc... fast forward a few thousand years - yes.

Considering ceramite is denser and stronger than than the standard plastic metal compound we use in the F-18's this means that they can take a hell of a ton of punishment and keep on going.

Let's rewind further. B-17 Flying Fortresses could fly with a blown engine and half the crew dead from gunfire.

Very impressive work, by the way.

Thinking of Joining a Davinite Loge

When WWII aircraft returned home from an 8-hour flight (during night and day) in the following state, I am sure that a gunship of the 41st Millenium is more than capable of loosing some chunks.

This particular aircraft ("Sweet-Pea") suffered a direct flak hit to its bomb bay over Europe. The plane held together for several more hours until just after landing when it broke in half. The aircraft was repaired and later flew again.

Spoiler:

Ahh yes good old Sweet Pea. I really dislike how we stopped naming our aircraft. It gives character to the craft.

I really like the concept.

I think it looks very good so far, and would like to congratulate you and say you have likely put more time and effort into beating up a model than most people ever put into building it in the first place. Great way to take something kinda generic and make it yours.
