I love a good fps, and have felt quite let down by some fps releases this year...HomeFront, BulletStorm and Brink were all deciedly subpar. Most fps games this year have been, with the exception of Killzone 3 of course. But I have a problem with that too, it's too damn short!
And Morathi, you will truly grow to love Arkham Asylum, it is quite quite brilliant

Aye, I've only got to the bit where Harley escapes with Gordon and the goons have guns for the first time.
I'm sure there is lots to come yet. So much fun, and it really makes you feel like you are Bats fighting all the hoodlums.
Planning to complete it, and then grab 'City' on release day.

This. The most anticipated titles are yet to come. Looking back though, it's been kind of a quiet year.

I'd say we'll have a better idea after the wave of games releasing in the Fall (Skyrim, Space Marine, etc.).
Right now, my vote is out for Skyrim. Both Oblivion and Morrowind have been groundbreaking, and both have gotten Game of the Year awards in the past. Hell, Morrowind is now nearing 10 years old, and it costs the same price on Steam as Oblivion does. I just don't think that many other games can stand up to an awesome series like the Elder Scrolls.
To be honest, I'd really doubt it if Space Marine made the GOTY. I, personally, love the demo, and have already dropped $50 on my preorder - but I can see some flaws in it, especially in the combat, and unless the full version of the game is a wholly different experience with the combat, I can't see it winning.

For what it's worth, without mod support Morrowind and Oblivion would not have withstood the test of time as well as they have.
Personally, I feel that mod support made oblivion. Morrowind blew my mind, but oblivion was...eh. Well it wasn't Morrowind by a longshot. For being GOTY, it sure was easy to break VERY quickly and VERY easily.
Oblivion collectors edition DID have a real life septim in it (Got one, wish I could find a large source of them). That's the coolest collectors edition item I've ever seen.

Too early to come to this conclusion............. Still waiting on too many games to come out............
But if I were to say one of the ones that came out thus far it would be either Crysis 2 or La Noire. At least for consoles.....
