He kind of has a point. They would be considered one of the least important chapters in Codex Space Marines, but more important than the hundreds they didn't even mention.

White Scars are unimportant because white is so darn hard to paint well!

Earlier fluff indicated that they had a 'Great Clan Council' instead of a Chapter Master.

The option for taking a Master of the Forge which allows extra Dreads is included to allow you a playable Iron Hands army (based on similar rules from 3ed), just as the Bike Captain trick is included to allow you a White Scar army.

They make an awful lot of Mechanicus stuff, big skulls and cogs for the titans, which may be what you're referring to...

Yeah, but that's old fluff. New fluff says they are a codex chapter that wishes they were Ultramarines.

I think you hit the nail on the head. I did a Whitescars army a while back. Nerve racking.

While its true that the white scars dont have that much fluff,
They are still one of the original legions that took part in many of the major engagements
During the Heresy. Plus their Primarch was pretty cool too

I was talking to a redshirt and he said that White Scars in an unimportant chapter to the imperium of man. Is that true and why.

Obvious Answer: The Redshirt has no White Scar merchandise which he can sell you!

They're important just not given enough fluff by GW....
