In my experience you need 5 important things:

>Innitiative to make like minded friends to play with
>Some ££ to buy your first troops models and an HQ
>Patience and perseverance to paint them
>Time and intelligence to learn the rules
>A shower, so as not to make the hobby look bad
to outsiders

After this you need:

>An addictive personality to buy more models
>More money to buy more models
>Commitment, to get you through the painting slog

*Edit* Cant stress the importance of rule number 5 enough - sweaty greebo's need not apply, we don't need the bad PR!

I am grateful for everyone's advise and i hope i can get a good scheme going for my tau i have base coated them all in black and i got the citadel starter paint kit and i need a sort of neon green I'm thinking if i add some white to knarlock green i will get a bright green is that true.

Dont use Knarlock green spend the extra 5$ and buy Scorpion green and possibly Valleo Shade Green as a wash
