Look on the bright side - the Tau book can really only be better than the current book when it arrives. At least you have a bright spark in your armies future. Us Tyranid players on the other hand...
Are you sure? I'm pretty sure "It can only get better" is exactly what the bug players were thinking before this new book came out...
I doubt it, since the 4th edition book was pretty awesome.
The 4th edition Tau book on the other hand, isn't. And wasn't in 4th edition either.

There was a 3e and a 4e tau book. The only problem with either book is that they were beautifully written, elegant, well designed, and utterly balanced books in editions known for being ugly, clumsy, poorly designed, and balanced like a hobbled AT-AT. The Tau Codices operate according to the fluff, which to me shows the genius inherent in the design. Blame Marine Creep for their obselesance.
The 4e Tyranid codex was AMAZING for about a month before they nerfed leaping Warriors. Then they went middle of the road. Then the next edition obliterated them, it seems. No IK under synapse gave me fits.

Good news. This is the best time in the hobby. Full of promise. GW lets us down each time and we know it but secretly we're hoping that this is the edition that GW gives us a balanced game that can also be played competitively at tournaments. I'm loving it.

You're dissapointed with GW because some people on forums saw an advert for a DE flyer and spun it into a massive summer release based on absolutely nothing?
Because evil Games Workshop.
When GW won't put out any info on upcoming releases you have only fan dug up rumors to get excited about, so yes, it's GW's fault that people get dissapointed with false info because they don't put out any real info to get excited about.
ph34r wrote:I'm not gonna lie, the lack of constant rumors for 40k has me think about 40k less and less, which is in turn killing my interest in the hobby.
Exactly this, and why I'm far more interested in Warmachine anymore, as they do do a constant stream of teasers and early info. We see WIP shots of models they're still sculpting or are even in just the cconcept stages. They talk to their customers on their own forums, interact with and answer questions. The lead fluff/story designer has a near cult following because of the way he talks about and explains or adds additional insight into the stories and character behaviors with the players on their boards.

My problem with PP is actually the opposite. They put out TOO MUCH stuff. It's impossible to get a grasp on. There was too much pressure to maintain my position of superiority in the region. i had to be comstantly up on new models/combos/tactics for other forces, not to mention doing the same for my own faction, despite that fact that my list barely changed when I played. I prided myself on my Prime list. I often wonder if Bonaparte felt as stressed out keeping ahead of the Russo-Prussian-Anglo alliance, having to find away to keep ahead of them withonly his steam powered punching zombies.

Hm... we've got plenty of Weird War II games. When are we going to see a good Napoleonic era game with dragons and wizards?
Napoleon as a Battlemage? YES.
