Tali'Zorah: I appreciate what you're doing here, Shepard.
Commander Shepard: Well, I care deeply about the quarian people.
Tali'Zorah: It's good to be back on the Normandy.
Commander Shepard: Let me know if it's too quiet for you to sleep, and I'll find you someplace louder.
Tali'Zorah: Hmm.
Garrus Vakarian: Uh, I was there when you two had your thing, remember? Just get a room and work it out.

In my days as a long-distance driver I found that it was impossible to fall asleep while brushing my teeth. Try it.

You should try that.

Ya know I feel old now a lot older. The biggest thing might be drink lots of water and do something to keep you active. Like a workout, but it doesn't have to be just that. Try basketball or jogging. Pretty much anything to work up a sweat for an hour or two a day. Caffine can be addictive and the withdrawls aren't pretty. Energy drinks and the like are filled with sugar which isn't great.
Water + exercise can do wonders for helping you stay awake. The idea to get into a routine helps your body adjust. It doesn't have to be as extreme as that but I try to get up about 7am and go to sleep by 11 or 11:30pm.

Eat Frosties...lots of Frosties. The sugar'll tide you over for hours if you keep at it (though you may want to kill yourself eventually due an inibility to sleep).

This +1.

I used to go out clubbing all night (I'm old now, so don't do it anymore).

I normally start to fade around 2am.
If I'm with the right company, then the group vibe keeps us going.

I've been known to keep going for 12 hours (past the normal point of sleep) with just this and no other external chemical stimulants.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

oh,you know. in a basement...cooking ponies into cupcakes....

ok. go to your fridge. get ice. put it down your back and the front of your pants. pick it up afterwards. run outside and hit the 1st person you see with the ice. run up and fight them. win. go drink some pure caffeine and then head to class. stop outside class door. scream as loud as you an and then run in place, then enter and you will be awake.

A couple of strategies:

One, if you're super tired and have access to caffeine, pound some and then lean your head back while sitting up for about half-hour/forty-five minutes. Not so much sleeping as dozing. You will wake just as the caffeine is kicking in and will feel refreshed.

Two, I've always found it easier to get through a really tired day by keeping track of how many hours it is until I can hit the sack hard. Say you get up at 7 and have class all day, but you know that by 7 tonite you will be free to crash out, then tell yourself: 12 hours. I can do 12 hours. 11 hours. I can do 11 hours. 10 hours... etc. Works for me.

It can be pretty hard to stay awake in a class though. Sit up straight, wear your most comfortable clothes, and make sure you won't be hot. Doodle bigtime.

Go for a walk. My friend calls it "urban exploring". Just walk around. For hours. Its great. Though watch out for cops, they don't like people urban exploring between the hours of midnight and 8 am.

funny story.....I used to do that when I couldn't sleep, than my dad found out I snuck out and thought I was on drugs.....so he put padlocks on the doors for a few months so I couldn't sneak out....come to think of it. That's not a funny story at all.

I forget to say that you should floss with amphetamines.
