Not a club, though that is something to give thought to.

We joined a league at a shop in Janesville, WI. Kryptonite Kollectibles is the shop.
Its about a 45min trip, so better than Madison or Chicago for a weekly thing.

I went up to Madison for a Tournament, and the guys there told me about it.
Didn't do great in the Tourney, but it was fun.

I know you guys have an event at G+ Saturday, but I have to work.
I was hoping to go.

Skrulink, to bad you haven't headed down I39 to DeKalb. We have a pretty strong (as in numbers) group and tourneys at our store. We are starting our Journeyman's next Thursday with a second day that Sunday (Oct. 2nd) Of course Janesville is about the same amount of time so it is a bit of a toss up.

I had heard that there was a group in DeKalb.

After this league wraps up, i will see about heading south instead.

What is the name of the shop?

Our shop is New Game In Town. It is right on Route 38 just East of Annie Glidden Road.

http://www.newgame-intown.com/

Thursday night is miniature night and we usually have about 2-3 tables playing Warmachine/Hordes. Sunday's are a mixed bag. Last year we would have a good 4-6 people playing pick up games (more as we were getting ready for a tournament like Mayhem) but the past couple of weeks have been a bit slower. We had a 10 person Steam roller last weekend.

If you come by ask for Greg that's me! Hope to see ya around some time.

Running Menoth after the person running it wouldn't let me play Non Magnus/Pirate/Dwarf Mercs as an alternate. We just finished week 2. Apparently he's also only giving out points for models painted that are actually used (yeah, I know, contrary to the rules he refused to compromise on) so I'll be switching up what I play often.

So far on the table are:
Kreoss
Crusader
Revenger
Repenter
Choir
Gorman

What I hope to have finished and fielded by league's end:
Harbinger
Avatar
Full TFG
Knights Exemplar
Guardian
Daughters
Wracks

If I can't lose my way to 40 Points, I'll certainly attempt to paint my way there.

The guy sounds like a real peach to deal with. Is he PG? Store owner? TFG?

I'd never dealt with them before this league. I just find it funny that some rules will get compromised, but others not. I'm at least playing now, instead of just collecting models, so the Journeyman League did accomplish that much.

I would be interested in it, but I don't know where one is going on around me. Malf, is there one going to happen at Dice Dojo? If so I'll be down for it with my Trolls!

The Dice Dojo will have one after the map campaign finishes,
so somewhere between 3 weeks to a month away.

Games Plus is starting the Journeyman league next week
Saturday.

I honestly don't know if I want to play in it or not. I won't be starting any faction anytime soon (as my LGS doesn't plan to run it till after the current league and local tournaments are done, meaning not for awhile). And if i did get a new faction, I wouldn't be using a battle box caster.

It sounds like a unique way to start an army, but having to use the battle box is just garbage, I would rather just see a progression of 15, 25, 35, 50 with the bonuses etc added in.

Locking in battle boxes is meant as an instructional aid for newer
players. After a month of play, they will know what both their models
and other models will do.

However, check with your local PG. Some of them are modifying
the rules to fit their local meta.

Sweet, I'll hold off on starting to paint my Trolls for a few weeks then. Does priming count toward a model being started before the league? Or can I at least prime the battlegroup in anticipation of the start of the League?

I'll have to go talk to the guy who's running it (we don't have an official PG down here). I know he said if we didn't want to start an army we could still play to help the newer people - which I don't mind. I'll have to really look at the specifics, because if its to far off theres no way I can put off my adepticon army, and knowing myself I would try to participate fully (painting etc).

I'm pretty sure primed models are fine. I'll get back to you (when the forums
are up). I say that because a lot of people are running around with primed
models.

The final word will be your Press Gangers, but I don't see it being a problem.

Even people that hate to paint usually will coat their army black.

Our club is running the league in about a month or so. Our PG said that primed is okay for us so I have some serious assembly and priming to do. I think we've got about 8-10 signed up for the league at this point.

I've been playing strictly Protectorate for about three years now and this is finally a good way to start a new faction. I was undecided but then ran across a great deal on a second-hand Cygnar (metal) battlebox set so I'm diving into that, will probably add Stormblades & a Stormclad I think. I also have the Ogrun Assault Corp which I can use with Jonas (as well as the Attendant Priest with Protectorate) so we'll see how that shakes out.

My club is starting this Thursday, and I will be playing Cryx. I will hopefully get everything painted and keep up, which will help me stay motivated to paint my Legion, as well as my GW armies.
I think we have 6 for sure, though other people have shown interest.

I'm playing skorne in our league, my first foray into Hordes. So far its been alot of fun, and I like The fury mechanic better than focus.

I am going to help my FLGS get one started in a couple of weeks, I found a good deal on a metal Magnus box so that is what I will be playing. One question though, as long as I start with my magnus box can I use something that is not strictly 4 star? For example could I instead build a Magnus tier list? Or at least Idrian skirmishers?

I feel sorry for Santa Clause, All these mom and pop operations are running him out of business.

I think it's mainly upto the local organizers.
My group are heading into our 3rd week here. Planning on running a Tier 2 Sorcha list. And I have all my rank patches earned already.
