I'm gonna go out on a limb and suggest a possible storyline. It's obvious that the ships crash land on the planet, it's in the trailer. Probably, the Sephora pulls along side the Sulaco in order to investigate it, gak happens, both ships are infected, they crash onto LV-426 with the marines exploring the site of the crash and the remains of Hadley's Hope along with the Space Jockey ship.
I wouldent say that the 2010 avp was bad.its single player was quite enjoyeble. it was its multiplayer that was bad preditors being overpowerd and all. it was like assassins brotherhoods multiplayer,it had good ideas but was implamented badly.
ok mabie implamented badly was the wrong to say in my exp of the game thair where few unbalanceings.but things like smokebombs where realy unbalanced.and its communty where horible.not COD bad. but still bad.
I have played all the AVP games, going so far as replaying the 1st and 2nd ones in the past two years. The new AvP was a load of [insert term] when judged based upon the previous games.
To sum it up, story as interesting as a wet napkin, aliens that didn't feel like aliens and no dread inducing atmosphere.
I am unable to view the pics in this post right now, but from what I have seen I do have some hope for A:CM.

That's probably what does happen. Although I will agree with what someone said earlier about Aliens, LV-426's colony was blown to hell when their atmosphere processor thing went nuclear. That and the Sulaco was supposed to be heading back towards Earth with all of them in cryosleep or something like that. If it is on LV-426 then they have a bit of explaining to do.
2012 I think, but I feel that might just be a placeholder date. At this rate, I think it'll surpass Duke Nuke'em Forever for time spent in development hell.

Hopefully it will be better received as well, the critics were not at all nice when it came to Duke Nukem Forever.

Remember the Sulaco was on fire? I'm guessing it just drifted after that, they may tow it back to LV-462, or deliberately crash it down on the planet in an attempt to stop the Xenomorphs. But I agree, in the weeks they were in Cryo it would have traveled a significant distance.
Does anyone have any idea how Xenomorph egg ended up on Sulaco in the first place?

Didn't the Sulaco crash in Aliens 3?

May the the blessings of His Grace the Emperor tumble down upon you like a golden fog. (Only a VERY select few will get this reference. And it's not from 40k. )
Also isn't Earth post apocalyptic in the Aliens universe?
Its dystopian.
Yeah, like 200 years after Alien 3...

Watch this. Seriously, my hype levels went from "Oh God this is going to be amazing" to jumping around my room scaring the neighbors.
Some facts -
- It takes place on LV-426, amongst the ruins of Hadley's Hope.
- You play as the rescue team that has gone to the planet to find out what happened to the first team. A large force of Marines and all that jazz that comes with it, including cargo loaders.
- The Sulaco is confirmed to be orbiting LV-426, how it got there is something you're going to find out (In the first trailer, a ship crashes onto the planet, probably the Sulaco or Sephora).
- You will visit the Space Jockey ship.
- Gearbox is working with Ridley Scott and memebers of the previous design teams to flesh out the remains of the ships and Hadley's Hope, as well as the Derelict Ship, and also work in the overall story, involving Prometheus.
- Bishop returns, along with his voice actor.
- They're fleshing out how the Alien Hive works, adding new classes of Xenomorph, including a highly armoured tank class called the Crusher, typical don't shoot from the front, hit from the side enemy. I assume the Warrior, Drone, Queen, and Runner will all return. Aiming for a well rounded set of enemies.
- The Game uses the Unreal 3, heavily modified with advanced lighting effects.
- Four player 'drop-out drop-in' campaign co-op.
- Greater mix of horror and action, moments of high-action, moments of horror, like a mix of Alien and Aliens.
- Campaign is Marines only, he went all smug when he talked about playing as the alien.
- Expanded armory, pulse rifles etc. with a lot of attachments.
I've had a lot to do with the run up to this game and let me just tell those of you debating it... This is a direct sequel to the second movie. No, there's no Lt. Ripley in it, but it references the third movie and begins on the sulaco and LV-426. It is directly related to the films. It's canonical status is questionable as it's technically EU, but it is, for all intents and purposes, a sequel to Aliens. It even has Hudson in it, ffs.

Oh, man this makes me wish that the sound card on my computer wasn't all screwed up. I need this game. Let's hope that the XBox live gameplay is great.
I guarantee you that I'm not really as smart as the test says:

Looking nice, and as you I am having a LOT of question for this...but given time all will be explained.
