If their chow is really good they might look on the heavy side, but if their chow is closer to renaissance armies in the field I'd expect a lean body with a lot of old-too-early-in-life weathering.

Depends on the unit, really. Standard Imperial-world-founded Regiment gets your standard military MREs or field-rations put together by DFAC (Dining Facility) personnel in a field kitchen. It won't be great, but it won't be terrible, really, and after a day or three in the field it will seem pretty damned awesome. This is, of course, assuming non-combat operations. In an active warzone? It'll be C-rations, basically. Which do suck, mostly. A really advanced-tech sort of unit might have the equivalent of MREs which are... not great, but less sucky than C-rations.

However, a unit like the Bluebloods? They probably have filet mignon and foie gras every night, drinking fine amasec and smoking good cigars.

It is best to be a pessimist. You are usually right and, when you're wrong, you're pleasantly surprised.

The Munitorum manuel does state that guardsmen will, whenever possable, be fed food that is found on their homeworld or as close as possable.

This is to avoid the possability of allergy and toxicity problems from cropping up.

The Imperium does have a nutri-paste which is used as emergency food. it is described as completely tasteless(thankfully, as it is mostly made of recycled human waste and the bodies of the dead, hence its moniker "Corpstarch")

There are C-ration and MRE equivilents described in the Gaunt's Ghosts novels.

Self-proclaimed evil Cat-person. Dues Ex Felines

Cato Sicarius, after force feeding Captain Ventris a copy of the Codex Astartes for having the audacity to play Deathwatch, chokes to death on his own D-baggery after finding Calgar assembling his new Eldar army.

Lol, I've been posting in that thread of yours for over a month now. Guess I am not very memorable... I just didn't remember you saying they were coming up in that thread, so I though I might have needed to look elsewhere. Thanks and I look forward to seeing your progress.

Check out my Project (B)log! I would love any suggestion or comments you may have.
