I like it! I say groovy!

I always thought the Chaos LRs should have the machine spirit somehow anyway, or be an awful lot cheaper!

I even think this is pretty fair, that gun is pretty great, but after a weapon destroyed result this thing is 2 HBs. Yea that's fine! It also doesn't have much AT capacity so yea I think that's really fair!

I'd gladly play that in friendly games anytime, especially after that AWESOME conversion!

Well done!

It should be 275pts, or have less transport capacity. Other than that, awesome!
Anyway why are people so worked up about the points cost? There are so many land raiders around that people build armies with lance spam and lascannon spam so much that it's be gone in the first turn.

Doesn't the Machine Spirit do exactly the same thing? Fire one more weapon than normal?

Arguing with some people is like playing chess with a pigeon. You can play the best chess in the world, but at the end of the day the pigeon will still knock all the pieces off the board and then gak all over it.

In terms of points cost and weapons, the Land Raider Marauder is fine.

Its a mid ranged anti-infantry unit in a codex already full of anti-infantry, so I'm not sure I see the need for it. Sweet looking model though!

exactly.

The Corrupted spirit basically allows you to fire one weapon at a different target. OR fire ONE weapons where you normally couldnt fire any at all (so, movng more than 12", stunned or shaken).

Wait, let me get this straight: You want it to have worse weapons and weapon options than a LRC, but you want it to cost more?

Ok, perhaps not that many extra points, but don't dismiss the extra transport capacity: 8 terminators jumping out of one of these while it fires all it's weapons (hurricane bolters are defensive weapons) can destroy 2 squads in one turn, then do the same next turn...and the next...until it's destroyed. It can easily be a game winner, even at the high points cost.

An LRC has a capacity of 16, p_gray. Not sure what point you're trying to make.

Everyone making comments on the rules understands that this Land Raider is designed to be played in a fan made codex and isn't meant to be used with the current Chaos Codex at all, right? As for the op, the conversion is nice and really looks good in Iron Warriors colors.

Exactly. If tank were used in the current codex it would not fit in as well. It has been designed to work well with the fandex i listed in the OP atteh top of the thread.

Cheers mate, quite happy with how it turned out. I'll be keeping the front turret as the normal HBolter in normal games and the sponsons are magnetised so i can swap in a set of normal lascannons too.

This doesn't have hurricane bolters. it has TL Heavy Bolter whcih are not defensive. Therefore this tank moves like a normal chaos LR. If it moves more than 6" it can only fire 1 of its weapons. If it stayed still it could fire everything (with 1 gun targetting a different target thanks to corrupted spirit).

TBH, given the choice i woudl just take a Crusader in a chaos army (and have done in the past for apoc games). But this provides a nice chaosy alternative. I will post here as to how it performs in-game next Thursday. but i think it will be pretty balanced and not at all OP.
