Patience, the schedule is:

September - Ogres
October - poor looking pointless naval game for £70!
November - Necrons.

They did not do anything at Games Day as they are still in the Dreadfleet cycle of their release and won't do anything to detract attention from that until it is fully released.

As soon as that happens - Necrons

Next WD is the one to watch. If there's nothing in that then God knows!

Actually, the latest rumor that I've started is that Necrons have been bumped for Black Templar.

I'd be very surprised but nothing is impossible. I'd not heard anything concrete on these guys. I know that the necron models are done and ready to go and have been for ages. GW guys seem pretty convinced that it is imminent, although they are not told anything these days! They pick up hints from newsletters, etc.

That would make sense, considering GW loves there marines!

Victory is not the most important outcome. Enjoyment and excitement is the best outcome, victory is sweeter when it was fun.

Really? hyperbole much?

BT need an update, to be sure. I play them myself.

That said, marines of all flavours get so much love already from GW that it's almost sickening, whereas Necrons haven't had a new model in a decade, nor a new codex.

You can make a good chunk of a BT force easily from regular marine models that are readily available, including the cheap ones from sets like AOBR.

Proxying marine models as immortals doesn't fly too well for Cron players

But it would make sense, after all this isn't really Warhammer 40K anymore but Space Marine the boardgame. Everything else is just there to be killed by space marines so they really dont need any updates.

Black Templar players can burn, Necrons NEED a new release, BT are just another SM army...GW has no love for the xenos

Pretty sure the new GW policy is to give ultramarines 2 codex updates with each new addition, so look forward to seeing a new vanilla marine codex around January

lol. I really hope they are re-released, just for a new codex more than anything.

the irony to gw takign the models down is I have my ork and marines armies pretty well set... and was abotu to throw down a few hundred on necrons (they seem fun and nobody where I play uses them. I was going to grab some warirors 2 monoliths and proxy everything else until I decided what I wanted in an army to get the models... oh well, maybe the new models will be cooler looking... jus thope the monoliths don't go up, $66 per vehicle is already pretty expensive

False alarm, people. They're all back up, even the ones who you aren't able to order anymore. Still, they -do- need an update. 8 years is a long time.
