This looks like a lot of fun! I'm not normally attracted to the 'chibi' type stuff, but it seems to really work for this game and format. Has a little Warhammer Quest vibe to it to me... If it's affordable, I might have a look into it. The minis do really look great.

I don't think painting them would be too much trouble - the simpler the better for larger pieces like these, and it would retain the animation influence that way as well.

I worry about this too - but I feel pretty reasonably sure that I could paint them better than a pre-paint. I am really hoping maybe Soda Pop will put up a painting guide with tips on how to get good results. But I've seen some "averagely" painted SDE minis posted about - and they still look pretty good - even without the slick official job.

I'm perfectly fine w/ a month delay. Still looking forward to picking this up, and if I'm lucky, getting my little girl into painting and gaming. It just looks so darned fun that I can't pass it up and it's been too long since I've had any fun wargaming.

So I presume you also have a pre-ordered a copy and were sent an initial email stating it would ship the first week of September?
