I figure I'll use the Cyclone since it seems to have the best synergy with the ATGM. After 2d3 Thunderbolt hits I'll have the same basic effect of a knocked down target or two.

I got to play test the list last night against a Trollkin army. My first exposure to Hordes. The warlock transferring damage and Tough on nearly everything was one heck of a surprise. Then again my opponent had never faced a full unit of Stormblades or Siege before, so that balanced things out.

Unit Battle Stats
Siege: He da man! As usual. He damn near took down the warlock and a full Troll on his own. On his Feat turn he put a boosted rocket into the Troll and then Force Hammer-ed it's big ugly butt right over the warlock. That forced the warlock into LoS of the Defender who forced enough damage on him to kill off one of the smaller trolls with a spear (have no idea what they're called) at that point the Avenger and ATGM ripped it's face off. Damage transfer is great till you run out of Fury.

Strangewayes: Didn't do a thing besides give the Avenger a point of focus it didn't actually use. I may, and I repeat may drop Strangewayes to upgrade the Defender back to Triumph. Mainly because even though my Reinholdt arrived I've got nothing to spend the other point on. There's no way I'd be able to get a third Stormgunner by Saturday and that's the only one point add on that would go with this list.

Defender: Self Propelled Artillery that didn't care what the target was or where. The Shock Hammer did nothing and there are a lot of Hordes players at our store. Triumph's shield and additional point of RAT might be more worthwhile.

Avenger: Tied to the Gun Mages made this beastie magical. Having Rune Shot and the Jack Marshal effects was all he needed. The Stun Blade wouldn't have hade any effect beyond the good, old fashioned "Hassan CHOP!" but I never got into melee. The Tremor Cannon rocks. Hard. The 4" AoE of knock down punished him for hiding close behind the Troll thanks to the range boost from Snipe. The game ended before I got close enough to see how well it interacted with the other Rune Shot options. But I don't see leaving home without this guy.

Stormblades: They never got to charge anything, but with Storm Gunners and the Command section their shooting was more than enough. The amount of firepower they generated was awesome. Being able to put both Storm Thowers and 6 Storm Gaives into a unit of 3 Trollkin (medium base melee unit with UA character) was enough to turn the bad guys into something left in a microwave too long. Much fun.

ATGM: Sweet, but fragile. Unlike the rest of my list these guys rely on DEF more than ARM. But when they get in range, they are murder. I got them up on a hill with the Avenger. And if I hadn't killed the warlock with shooting, Siege was going to give them a nice, little Foxhole to hang out in. Boost all ya want, I'll take the risk that you actually hit DEF 21. The few shots they took hit and they made the Avenger much more effective.

So a nice Mosh Pit win by assassination. Sorry I don't know enough about the Trolls to give any more info on his army. At this point I'm way too focussed on learning Cygnar to even try and learn about the 47 other armies.

How are you getting an additional 2 DEF on the ATGM? They're DEF 19 in cover.

Because they were on a hill and the Trolls were down below.
