Drix hits the nail pretty well. BA are very versatile when compared with other MEQ armies. But they might get expensive. This can be counteract a bit by minimizing upgrades.

In particular, BA is the only chapter that can play an AV 13 tank wall. I'm not really a fan of Razorbacks since they get downed to often and then you eventually lose a KP game.

They can muster up deathstar armies with relatively scary lists including dc, deep striking land raiders, storm raven assault vehicles, etc.

They do fine in MSU lists with melta-equipped 5-man assault squads. The discount on the razorback is plain sex. The Space Wolves certainly do it better as far as razorspam, but the cargo within is a little scarier than grey hunters, IMO.

AV13 spam. Whether that's predator or dreadnaught, Blood Angels can do it well.

Scary heroes. I'm seeing a lot of Dante-sang-honor guard death star drop lists. Mephiston can be quite versatile, even though everyone now seems to have experienced him and has an answer for him. Hell, I fielded Gabriel Seth the other day with my fluffy flesh tearer's army and he (and his sanguinary guard pals) whiped out Kharn and his bezerker friends in cc. Pretty brutal stuff.

DoA infantry heavy jump lists. So you're packing plenty of las and melta for the 5 razorbacks and 3 predators you expect to see? Well, now you have thirty melta-armed, power-fist packing marines jumping right into your face. Good luck.

Fast vindicators. Variable results, but when they work they work.

---------------

The big weaknesses that the blood angels have is that they are expensive. Let's be honest, razorbacks are not hard to destroy, even with the 5+ libby shield. Stormchickens die easily enough, and risking the cargo for a flat-out cover save is rarely worth it.

Does your opponent make a mistake and set his Mephiston just out of cover? Blast away at him and knock out 250 points. Did he field expensive death company in a rhino? Pop it, and bait them around with some suitably powerful armor.

In my opinion, focus on the point sinks. The troops are tough for space marines, but as soon as the boxes are popped, you should have the same fighting chance against them as you would vs any other army.

Well, you could look into the Battle Reports here at Dakka. I'm certain you'll find several competitive BA builds.

My devs have pulled it more often then anything else. Its funny, because then I assault things that get too close, and it scares the hell out of people.

I have noticed that Blood Angels are competative when it comes to a mech list. Get a few transport (Rhino) put your assault squad in there and get them down straigght to the enemy. Plus a predator behind for all back up.
Blood Angels should be an exiting but expensive army for me .
