No lower body (or hands) still makes for a hard conversion

There is a "conversion pack" from Chapter House who look better. But none of them solve the hands problem. In reality, if you took the regular cadian guy, and replaced it with more feminine arms and head, they would look like military womans in action...

But if you really want military womans, wait for Chapterhouse to release the arms set...

If my post show some BAD spelling issues, please forgive-me, english is not my natural language, and i never received formal education on it...

I respectfully disagree with this statement. These don't look all that great, however even then they in my eyes are better then CHS's attempt.

Wow, that's an impressive amout of vitriol and overstatement. And no, Shadowforge does not make "porno models". Words have meanings, you know, you can't just go around throwing them around willy-nilly.

Not good.

The problem is that can't see any of these conversion kits being any good. You still have to attach huge man-like arms and legs. They just look weird.

To do female guard you need to sculpt them entirely from scratch, trying to convert a male figure into a women just doesn't work.

There were some resin female cadians someone did once, they were a member here. But I think he's long since stopped doing them.

I followed your advice and went to their site. It is indeed full of poorly sculpted porno models.

These range from terrible to acceptable, in my opinion.

For the Russians, Envelope Cap 1, Officer, and Commisar are OK. The rest are ehh, ranging to 2x helmeted, which are very poor.Summer Tunic is the only torso that looks aright to me.

For the Sci-Fi, only the Officer is OK. The rest are poor. I think both Flak Armors are alright.

Unfortunately, as lackluster as this showing was they still offer the best female conversion kits on the market; Chapterhouse makes some nice kits but their female heads are not one of them.

Funnily enough shadowforge produce a range of blow-up doll zombies.

Their spec ops troops look to be good choices for female catachans. They're complete models and would need converting to take IG weapons but look the part.
They even have a Sandra Bullock model from her role as a cop in the film 'Demolition Man'.

What about using eldar guardian arms?

That commisar torso could come in handy if for some reason I wanted Adam Ant in my army.

Though, having said that, an Inquisitorial warband based on 80's Icons could be quite cool as a project.

+1. Although GW certainly thought they got away with it when they did their Dark Eldar plastics. "Oh NOES!!! Attack of the giant, busty, steriodazon elf-ladies!!!"

what did you expect? being a pit fighter in DE society is hardly something you breeze through. I like the fact that they look powerful but still graceful. At least they are not trying to pass off 12 year old girls as professional fighters like so many terrible manga series....

I too wondered about eldar/elf arms (or at least hands), which tend to be a little less macho looking.

Back to the models, some of the torsos look fine, I too think most of the heads look a bit too "cheap hooker", but that may be the paint job - I'd certainly like to see someone else's more naturalistic paintjob on the same heads as a comparison. They don't make matching legs/hips models? Not that adding _slightly_ more feminine hips would be too hard a greenstuff task...

If people are really looking for similar sized legs and arms for female guardsmen then Tau Fire Warrior ones seem to work arlight, albeit they require a wee bit of filing (and a gun swap for that matter). Alternatively Dark Elf crossbowmen arms work well too, though they are positioned a bit too oddly so you'd have to scratch build any weapons. Eldar arms would be a tad too muscly for these torsos, but the ones from Dark Eldar Wyches' are properally scalled; if not at all appropriate for the look of the conversion kit.

...Maybe if they made a Tallarn kit it wouldn't be as bad. ...Youknow, cover up half their faces or so... =/

I see where you're coming from but check even the art in the codex. And the fluff. DE's are made out to be these graceful, lithe, quick killers. Not Schwarzenegger'esque bodybuilders (but you could make a case for combat drugs). Even check the musculature on the Kabalite troops in armor - not even as crazy. Now had GW made the muscles/arms of a size that would actually fit in Kabalite armor and less.....Catchakin, then I could see it. Girls that are girl size and guys that are...well metrosexual (which is fitting for an elf).

But they did not. So I will take mirthful jabs at their plastic ladyfolk till the end of time.

you do have a leg to stand on sir, but really, its a matter of people not coordinating on scale when sculpting. the height of the model is monitored, but i think the rest is up to the artist in question. hence you get in proportionate females that look too buff

Way to generalize. Being married to a female in the military and having a lot of female friends in the military, I can honestly say, more often than not, they're ANYTHING but manly.

Im in Afghanistan right now. Last night I want to the mess hall and took a look around. About 60% show little on or no feminine qualities in their uniform. Put some body armor on the and forget it. The ones that do look like a female are more often than not working in an office.

Also I saw someone directed a post at me about some female in Air Force. All I have to say is Im at the Bagram Ammunition Supply Point everyday though June. Any challengers just look for the guy 240lbs of bald sexiness.

I'm too sexy for a sig.

<------ 19D.... What are these illusive creatures called "females" that you speak of? I never seen one deployed that wasn't sitting behind a desk soaking up the AC while complaining about how rough she has it.

YMMV of course.

To be fair, even Jes Goodwin thinks that men and women have the same lower body (see DE plastic sprues).

Now have a second look: How many soldiers have hands bigger than their heads? Then look at the GW miniatures. See?
Another hint: 40k is not meant as a realistic simulation of current warfare, so no fat soldiers and few ugly women.
