Yes, I'm aware of this.

You never indicated as much in your previous post.

The spoilered bit didn't give it away?

No, it didn't. Your "spoiler" makes no mention of the fact that normandy beach is in France and not (as you had indicated) Germany.

At the time, Germany probably considered "France" as a part of "Germany".

I mean they occupied France at the time and if they would have won the war, Normandy would probably be a part of Germany.

The only parts of France that were incorporated in Germany were Lorraine and Alasce. France was under German military administration at the time, but still had its own government, subordinate or not. Everyone in the war referred to France, as France, not Germany, until this guy made the mistake.

Sorry for pointing it out, but yeah, you brain farted all over that post.

Sorry, I thought the would have showed some sarcasm.

Not picking up on Sarcasm could be considered a brain fart too...

Besides, like real farts, better out than in. Get the farts out so someone can tell you they stink right?

LOL
I'm not good at picking up typed sarcasm. Surely you should of put the after the second sentence aswell? To make it more obvious.

I was refering to this one anyway:

Ahh...I gotcha. I probably should have. Now that I look at it, the second sentence does sound a little more serious.

btw...that facepalm was for me...

Runnin up on ya.

Paratroopers did land on the day of the invasion but they weren't near a beach.

Watch "Band of Brothers" awesome show.

Six mistakes mankind keeps making century after century: Believing that personal gain is made by crushing others; Worrying about things that cannot be changed or corrected; Insisting that a thing is impossible because we cannot accomplish it; Refusing to set aside trivial preferences; Neglecting development and refinement of the mind; Attempting to compel others to believe and live as we do

Put the ePeens away. The guy was obviously kidding.

I thought it was an interesting idea for a commercial, but the premise was upended by featuring the WW2 guys so prominently. You have all of these characters recalling fantastic events and struggles...then you switch the focus to a guy talking about something that actually happened, and giving credit for it to some kid with a controller. Clumsy move. They would have been better off putting the actual WW2 guys in the background, and using a character from Resistance or Killzone as the central focus of the commercial.

I think it's a fairly good move actually...
They could have gone with something else and that might have been better but as it is i think it's fairly good.

In your base, ignoring your logic.

Its a good move because there are people who wouldn't get the Killzone or Resistance games or their references, but most people know about WW2 to get the fact that in a WW2 game this guy is a hero. Commercials are there to bring new people in, so by having the WW2 guys figure so prominently it gives context to the other references. People who haven't touched Playstations would be able to say "Oh, all of those things were really big in those games. Because they're comparing the D-Day invasion to them, that means they're as significant.".

yup. and great single player games like metal gear solid. others like killzone.

and with halo and call of duty going down the gutter, the xbox is losing its worth to me.
