@-robot Thanks,I like making rust buckets.

have you used FW weathering powders? if so do you like them?
I have never used any weathering powders but am curious about it as I plan on making many more modified rust buckets.
Currently I use spices and garden garden supplies.

Which heads do you use for heretics?

and why do you choose 'french troops' as a baddies?

Im using the french heads on the squad that will be a penal unit or worker rabble depending on usage. I started making them before I got a look at the renegade codex. At first they were an experiment, then I liked the way they looked like miners or engineers.
The skull faced units will be the veterans. those are almost done.

they are good, but if they are heretics I would shave off the eagles and skulls and put chaos stars on

Wow mate very impressive work, Love the DKOK. Your army has a very western front meets 40k feel, I love it and it looks fantastic. Keep up the good work, cant wait to have a read of your fluff, my next instalment is finally under way as well.

Thanks for the advice, I could see shaving off the eagles.in fact I should have.
But why the skulls? couldnt I just extend the star from the skull design?
I admit Im not an expert on the designs of warhammer or chaos. But their skulls, there must be a motif I can use for them?
Its not like Im SO mature that I dont think skulls are cool

Well, I suppose the skulls could stay, But the eagles must go!

Agreed, the eagles must go. I will try a star over one of the more finished ones and upload pic. Or paint the star over the eagle like its been defiled...
Also I have received 3 Tallarn Mulaaki rough riders with my order of dkok rough riders. I was told to keep them and now I am not sure how to include them.
Iadded the question to this wip blog because I think they can be added to this army but Im not sure how. Of course I would need 2 more or to join them with another cavalry, but that would look pretty odd.
Any ideas?
[/img]

The ideas came in and they were great, thanks all. the options were up between heavy weapons team or sentinels.dkok or heretic.
Its decided they will be sentinels(walking gun platforms like the camel guns of Afghanistan (thanks chang)
I will compare a dkok heavy flamer unit and a renegade heavy stubber unit and see which would look/fit best.
If I go with dkok it will have a Safari look with some baggage and pith helmet action.

these 2 units added have been modified from original IG and warmachine minis.
[/img]
[/img]
[/img]

Three Mukaali cavalry units will be added to the heretics or heroes army as sentinels.
first sentinel is done being modified and primed.
[/img]

The next will be a lascannon or auto cannon series.
When finished, The unit should work as 3 scout sentinels with the following items included wysiwyg;
3x smoke launchers
3x hellstrikes
1x heavy flamer
1x autocannon
1x lascannon
Should I add camo netting option?

Those Mounts look "interesting" They could be used a sentinel you'd perhaps need to add armor plating and which ever weapon layout you plan to use.

@knightly,Hey,thats exactly what I intend to do,scout sentinels!
@mrmerlin,Thanks,renegades on the way,for now heres a vehicle update for them.
I cant use the jeep in tourney play but its going to get stuck into a valkyrie talon.

This one will be altered further as I am not satisfied with its lack of alternate persona.

@Mrmerlin, Thanks much!,The yellow is to make them look like construction vehicles,But its perfect for allowing alot of details and subtleties to show through. The weathering is mostly about what order its in.
So the base color goes on first, then the black shading of the corners and connections(foggy or airbrush),then a wash of base color over that, then the silver drybrushing, then the dirt and rust wash, then testors silver on the citadel silver that has been washed.(so there are 2 types of metal showing, lots of corroded and little bits of fresh) and finally a wash of chaos, badab or ink watered down to grab the details a bit. (I am very much still an amateur,I just experiment with alot of other products and techniques. Like painting with a brush OVER an airbrush job.) You asked such a good question I might have to make a little painting thread.

@Capitansolstice Thanks for that, it is a forge world Elysian Tauros Assault Vehicle. It is made by a GW licensed producer but I cant find anyway to play it from the GW codex. So I am going to put it into a Valkyrie talon, but then outfit some Elysian drop troops into an alternate drop pod box for it.(that needs a pic)
