It's never been explicitly stated that the Exorcists are blanks, only that they are resistant to psychic powers. It's by no means implausible to infer that the process of possession and exorcism makes them more challenging for psykers to affect (and, as per 'Headhunted', to a psyker, intimidatingly 'empty'), as well as proofing them against the temptations of daemons.

It's that they are resistant to possession, which might in some individuals make them a bit more resistant to psychic powers or the Warp in general.

If that's true, why are we stopping with Guardsmen? If we can prevent ANYONE in command from being possessed, or at lest make them resistant, then lets do it!

Blanks aren't just "preventative" of resistance.

They actually repel Warp energy.

Marine aspirants aren't just "anyone", and even they don't all survive the process.

Also, Exorcists aren't blanks. IA10 describes them as "Soul-seared". During one battle in IA10, an Exorcists Librarian is able to locate Captain Alberec on the battlefield by searching out his soul.

Exorcists are not blanks, blanks can only be born, not made. Exorcists are resistant to possession due to having protection over their soul/warp interaction.

Blanks actively repel the warp stopping warp powers.
