Q: If only some of the models in a unit have the Stealth
special rule, does the whole unit benefit from the +1
cover save? (p76)
A: Yes. In effect the ones with the Stealth special rule
ensure their colleagues also find good places to hide

So as of now, any unit that Karandras leads gets to use his stealth rule since stealth is an exception to the normal.

......... Ah.

Well, okay then.

An FAQ answer that blatantly slops over a rules issue that otherwise was pretty clearly worded the other way.

*sigh*

Still, 215pts for +1 to cover saves is... not quite worth it in my opinion, especially if you have to give up a Farseer to do it.

It doesn't look under the special rule section on page 74. and special rules with a asterisk says they are automatically lost by an independent character joining if it doesn't have the same rule. Stealth has never had that Asterisk.

I'd include a Warlock w/ conceal to grant a rerollable 5+ cover save. You don't want a large WG unit to walk though cover slowing it eventually down.
you get a 4+ by shooting through other units why would you spend points on a 5+ cover save? All you need is a couple of WS (most likely with fire dragons).

In fact, this is worth considering. How does the rest of your army look like?

(2478pts) (Forge World allowed)
Avatar of Khaine
Wraithseer + D-cannon
WraithGuard10+spirtseer X3
WraithLord (SL+EML) X3
Wasps3(2xSC)x 3
... Ok Wasps move me a little away from the all dead theme but they zip forward and give me time to move everything else up.

(2500pts)
Farseer+stone+fortune+guide X2
Fire Dragons5or6+waveserpt (EML+SC+Stone) X3 (note 2 units have 6 one has 5)
WraithGuard10+spirtseer X3 (note 2 also have embolden so the farseers can re-roll their psychic test)
WraithLord (SL+EML) X3
... goal is simple take out the big guns quickly everything else struggles. While killing a lot is hard for both sides tactical strikes can quickly remove threats and it becomes a war of attritions (which T6 normally wins). I have consider replacing 2 fire dragons and take flamer exarches to deal with more hoard like builds.

I'll happily admit that neither build is competitive however they are a pain in the ass to beat If you aren't set up for it.

Well, FW has some nice Eldar models that fit into an Iyanden army as the Wraithseer and Wasps.
@Tri: Nice lists, three full WG are definitely a pain.

As a side note I've found that I'm never that short on anti tank but anti horde ... When I need to lower the points and/or fight a more infantry based army, I find that swapping the wraith lords for Support weapons batteries works well.

Vibro Cannons work very well in pairs. Unit cost 100pts and and 3/4 chance of firing, then it hits every thing its path with D6 strength 5 AP - ... and auto shakes vehicles (auto glancing hit plus AP = -3 roll on the damage chart).

Shadow weaver Cannons, normally best as a trinity. Unit cost 90pts and drops 3 guess range blast At strength 6 AP- over most of the board (48" range is good like that). While it also suffers vs vehicles they very cheaper so 270pts fills out your heavy support slots.

One good quality for both units the fact you can be complete out of sight means they do tend to last better then you might expect.

Well, support batteries are great vs. hordes. But a fluffy Iyanden army should include some Wraithlords. They can have dual flamers and so are also useful vs hordes.
