Alpha Legion have used everyone for their own ends.
Fixed your statement to be more factually accurate.
Basically, in regards to Chaos "teaming up" with the Imperium--in terms of organizations getting together and fighting alongside each other?
No.
In terms of individuals doing the same?
Nope.
The examples of radical Inquisitors "teaming up" with Chaos are flawed. By that point they are effectively servants of the Ruinous Powers themselves, so it's essentially Chaos teaming up with Chaos.
The example of Eisenhorn and Cherubael is a bit more tricky to quantify, but again...it's not an alliance of equals.
Eisenhorn broke and bound Cherubael to his will. Cherubael is a shadow of his unbound self, and he can't do a dang thing to stop it.
I can't agree. Quixos was certainly still working to benefit the Imperium, despite doing some terrible things with Chaotic allies, and Eisenhorn has worked with Chaos individuals a number of times. I think the defining characteristic of these working relationships is that one side is always clearly subordinate to the other.

Quixos thought he was still working to benefit the Imperium. You know how that saying goes "The road to Hell is paved with good intentions".
And no, Eisenhorn has not "worked with Chaos individuals a number of times".
He has gone undercover to get them to damn themselves, but never to the point of actually aiding them in their plots.

Well more like the tau didn't pay up and got what was coming to them, seriously who would not pay a group of people known to torture for fun?

Ya, but the Dark Eldar are more like the Alpha legion, they always had the intention of stabbing them in the back...
If you use a wrench to fix someones car...and then they pay you for fixing said car...are you and the wrench allies?
The Tau were just a tool, a tool that was used to create weird Tau mutants that the Dark Eldar made....

You don't think the radicalization of Eisenhorn, and his corruption to his current degenerate state, was one of Cherubael's plots?
And I think that Quixos's end-game certainly sounded to ME like it was going to benefit the Imperium. Isn't that just taking the whole 'ends justify the means' mentality that guides the Imperium to the next level?

Really only the Imperium, Eldar, and Tau should ever ally in any combination. Orks can work as mercenaries too and have been used by the Forces of Chaos in such a role. Chaos is a different kind of enemy and should never ally with the Imperium or Eldar. The Gods of Chaos won't care about a "greater enemy" to team up against.
Dark Eldar can team up with just about anyone and have it believable if done right (i.e. being paid or finding it amusing).
Tyranids and Necrons should be beyond such concepts or contemplations. But Matt Ward blah blah.

I remember seeing a fantastic diagram in one of the expansion books (I think apocaplyse) where it showed each army relation to each other.
