It caused losing units to autobrake IIRC.

I started in 8th, so far i find it more interesting than 40k 5th.

Partial hits were a 4+ to hit. Now they are automatic.

I think Empire Cannons were always D6, but the rest probably were D3... I don't play any cannon-toting armies myself

For me the game has been mostly reduced pushing big blocks of <insert unit here> into each other while rolling for the highest possible spell you can cast. Judging by the way people have been shelving their armies around here, I'm not the only one. Obviously some places still have plenty of popularity, but long time Fantasy vets have put their toy soldiers away hoping that 9th edition will let them out of the closet again.
