"Legally Blind" means you have worse than 20/200 vision. That's it. You can wear glasses to correct this. A great majority of "legally blind" people actually have some vision and it's often corrected with glasses or contacts.
Legally Blind =! Complete Blindness

That seems like a perfectly reasonable progression of the conversation. What's the problem?

DAKKA.....your a strange bird People were laughing about how he's blind but offering painted models. I merely pointed out that he states he is legally blind, which is different to being completely blind as posters assumed, and is actually correctable in some cases. It wasn't as simple as laughing at the blind guy selling painted models as the thread started out as. If you want to go back to laughing at a handicapped person trying to do something he likes and raising a bit of money for charity with it, then, well... maybe Dakka is getting worse.

The legal definition of blindness I"m familiar with requires 20/200 vision even when corrected.

Absolutionis wrote:"Legally Blind" means you have worse than 20/20 vision. No it doesn't. 'Legally blind' has a specific legal meaning as a form of disability can cover a range of vision issues, generally quite serious. It does not include all less-than-perfect vision problems like short sightedness that are corrected with glasses. I wear glasses and don't have 20/20 vision by I do not qualify as 'legally blind'.

Completely agree, I thought we didn't laugh at each others painting on Dakka.
I guess as they are new listings he has been updating the stock images with photos as he takes them. Not the way I would start a listing but each to their own. Personally I think he's work is quite good.

LEGALLY blind. I'm legally blind, with corrected vision I have 15/20 vision. I build and fly rc airplane and paint and play 40k among other things that being legally blind doesn't stop me from doing...
Totally want to buy an Aragon and return it with complaint because of the picture. But alas I am not that petty.
