That's pretty dishonorable. Using stock GW pics to represent your "pro painted" models, then saying deep in your ad that you're blind.
Dang.

Ebay holds legality. If we buy it, pay for it, it'll become "real"

There's a difference between legally blind as he claims and not being able to see. It's actually possible to get corrective lenses for some cases of being legally blind.

However, using a stock photo does ruin all credibility.

The Storm Raven and the Tomb Kings thing he posts do not look like stock pictures that I've ever seen. I do have a friend of mine who is legally blind after some issues with brain tumors. He still plays video games fine and lives a full life, but the distinction means that he won't ever be driving a car because his depth perception is messed up bad, and he also needs a serious pair of prescription glasses to function.

The LOTR pictures with the stock photos are really shady though.

This. Being a step away from legally blind(but correctable, I'm at -9 in my Left eye and -8.5 in my Right) myself, I can tell you that there's a huge difference between not being able to see and being able to correct what the law considers blind.

That said, I'm functionally useless without corrective lenses. Anything small that isn't an insanely bright color becomes indistinguishable from the background it's on. In other words, while I can see large shapes and bright shapes(and distinguish where a person's clothing meets skin), everything large enough to see is a blob and small things are effectively invisible to me. Forget about reading, as the book has to nearly touch my eyelids before I can distinguish words.

These are both good points. "Legally blind" is one of those concepts with a lot of different definitions. Social Security Disability alone has three different ways to meet that standard:
http://www.socialsecurity.gov/disability/professionals/bluebook/2.00-SpecialSensesandSpeech-Adult.htm#2_04

Dont' confuse "legal blindness" with "total blindness."

What he said. I know a photographer who is 'legally blind' (meaning can't drive or do some other things).

Still not a well-written ad. And yeah the stock photos for the LotR stuff

As far to the east you can get without being in Canada.

Not saying anything about the ad, ect, but I may technically be legally blind with my horrific eyesight. My close range vision with out my glasses is about 4 inches. I can imagine that if that is the case with this person he might have a lot of paint on his nose.

You'd know if you were legally blind. Your optometrist is obliged to tell you so that the DMV can either revoke your license or issue you a handicapped tag.

If you can see at 4 inches, you're not, as you have better eyesight than me and as I stated, I'm not even there yet.

You are bidding on a professionally painted model of the Blood Angels Stormraven Gunship. This is one of the centerpieces of my painting collection. This model is made from plastic, assembled, and painted to a high detail . This item is manufactured by Games Workshop, and personally hand painted by myself. I have been in the hobby for many years, and I am running out of room for many of my models. Many will be up for auction soon, and I am looking forward to selling many more models. I accept PayPal as payment for items. Combine other auctions to save on shipping. (models pictured are for reference only. finished product varies slightly from those pictured.)

Note: I am legally blind, and 25% of my sales get donated to the Bureau for the Blind Services. Please view my other auctions as they become available. Thank you.

I have a friend who is legally blind, and he can paint as well as the stock photos from GW. I've watched him work, and he can do shading, dry brushing, everything. He uses a magnifying lense to do his work (and everything else), but he's a damn good painter. Legally blind doesn't mean you can't do this kinda stuff. However, using stock photos...yeah, no. That, combined with high prices, does not lend credibility. Shall we form a lynch mob?

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

I don't know whether I'm more annoyed by the use of "pro-painted" -a term which seems to mean exactly nothing anymore- , or the use of stock pictures for minis he is advertising as pro-painted. Shady....

As for the legaly blind thing. Meh. Though if he were directly donating it through ebay/paypal wouldn't it show up on the auction listing? As it is you're relying on his word to make a donation.

For the record, as of now, the TK and Storm Raven models are not the same pics as when I made my comment.

All the others are, though.

@Plat
(Serious question)
If your eye sight's that bad, how do you manage to post on the forums, read posts, etc? What techniques and tools do you use to get around it?
