but saying 4K worth of missiles stricking at the same time is not possible. It'll be all staggered. A shield going to fail regardless and when it does go it be a bullseye in that area for ER-PPC, PPC, Guass, LRM's, SRM, S/M/L Lasers, S/M/L Pulse Lasers and 2/5/10/20 AC fire plunging in.

When you're getting codex fluff for a faction, you never read "The Dust Devil Marine Chapter was utterly wiped out when they attempted to take on a Hive Tyrant armed only with damp towels and harsh words" or "The Necrons unleashed every arcane weapon and strange sorcery in their arsenal... and utterly failed to so much as slow the Imperator Titan, who strode manfully onwards, crushing their Monolith, and its subterranean tomb complex, utterly" in the Necron Codex.
Right, which is also why you can't go "Void shields are the besterest evar!! Nuffin can get thru them!" From fluff, weight of fire (as in, multiple smaller rounds) are the downfall of void shields as they overload trying to deal with that many shots. Weight of fire ('Mechs vs Titans) is what the BTech universe has the advantage in. As such, void shields would be, although helpful, not the end-all-beat-all. I'm not saying BTech auto-wins by any means (as I've said, IoM wins from space) but ground fights are kind of one sided.

If it was one titan then its literally overwhelmed. If a legion gets involve then might as well consider three RCT's become involve. well some RCT's have 4 battalions worth of mech. It'll be protracted but RCT's will win.

I was looking less at codices and other factional sources and more balanced depictions, like Titanicus, which presents a more balanced view of the God-Machines and their capabilities.
After all, many (most?) of the largest Imperial Titans have been in service for 10,000 or more years now... one would think that they've already seen combat akin to/similar enough to what the BTech universe can throw at them.

This assumes that none, or less than a significant proportion, of the incoming missiles are not shot down by the Titan's point-defense and turret weapons/AMM systems.

What you fail to realize is that the mechs with the missiles do not need LoS to get the lock, a team member can get a lock for them, usually a scout mech that is superfast, then you have 100 Madcat mechs with 2 LRM-20's firing both LRM-20's at the target from a half mile away whilst out of LoS.
Well, since you mention Madcats, you're talking Clans.
Clan doctrine would be to engage a titan one mech at a time.
If you think, "that's stupid". You're right, and that's why they'd lose.

Everyone is forgetting the large Star League era caches of Capital ships that the Clans and COMSTAR have. Also the Inner Sphere and Clans were designing new ships when the game was ended. The space fight would not be as lopsided as everyone seems to think.
Battletech ships were rare in the game but they were also heavilly armed and did carry huge numbers of Aerospace fighters...not to mention the Dropships that also carried Aerospace fighters......

If the Titan willing to keep the engagement one on one.. Doubt the Precept would be "clan honorable" Course the first time a second mech is damage from the Titan then pretty much the Titan is considered "Bandit"
Someone from the IoM side will shoot a mech already engaged with another opponent

one thing i was thinking about was the percentage of weight devoted to weaponry in both games. I know a Daishi Omnimech (100tons) devoted 50+% of its weight to weapons.....I do not have my BT tech readout books to create an average but are Titan weapon loadouts even given that kind of attention....does a warhound loadout equal Half again its weight?

I don't think we know how much the weapons weight compared to the vehicle.

Well....engine for the mech is determined how far you want it to walk if I remember correctly. Standard inner sphere power plants was full weight. Clan engines XL light power plants same way at half weight. I might be wrong since its been awhile I drawn up a mech. If all remember correctly it was a heat issue for firing weapons so heat sinks were another weight cruncher. Like anyone played safe running the heat up..not.
Weapons though took up slots and there's only so many slot to go around. Good thing was you can mount a weapon pretty much all over the body and limb. 10 Heat sinks to an engine so you can assigned a good amount of weapons to a Mech.
Hand held weapons be a bit vicious to a Titan lower legs. Void shields do not hug the body of the titan so penetration into the legs. Also mechs can equip Anti Missile System so that'll increase survivability just a faction...depending on the size of the missiles.
As for a Titan. I'm thinking like 3 main weapons(?) starting and more as the weight class goes up. Can a Titan actually shoot em all on the move or does some of the weapons need it for be still?

Warhounds have 2 weapon mounts, Reavers have 2 arm mounts and one dorsal, Emperor Titans have 2 arm weapons and 6 carapace weapons. In addition, the Emperor Titan can carry over 100 infantry to protect it from close ranged attacks. each foot has 3 firepoints to shoot weapons out of.
here is the Emperor's datasheet for Appocalypse.
