Right, nevermind that there is pretty much unanimous world-wide scientific consensus that it is human-driven climate change, and since most of it has taken place since the industrial revolution it makes perfect sense.

Only in America are people still debating whether climate change is real, the rest of the world is trying to figure out a solution.

And WTF has climate on earth to do with 40k background?

You know, the forum , known as Dakka, provides OT for such debates.

This is the most ignorant thing I have ever read on these boards. And that's saying a lot, because Brother Coa posts regularly.

I do hope it was sarcasm.

Does Global Warming exist? Yes, the global climate is changing. Is it because of human activity? Debatable, and frankly, I don't think it's us that's driving it forward.

Last week 2 US scientist proved that we are responsible for that, it was all over the news.
I knew that before all of this was announced.

And P.S. Global Warming was a joke, shishhh..........

Maybe not...rememberr how Magnus cracked planet a little with his mind?
Emperor is more powerful than him, but again - I think not that powerful to destroy a planet.
Maybe he can tie her in Warp or something like that...

The only thing that this thread has proved is that people are far too willing to listen to the media.
Okay the emperor may not be able to smash a planet with his mind (I wasn't seriously suggesting this, but for the benefit of those who are cursed with a literal understanding of language I shall clarify), but he's still pretty epic. Clearly powerful enough to heal himself, you'd have thought.
The only reason he wouldn't have is if he's unconscious. But then he's a being of the warp, so surely he'd still have a presence in there?

I don't think he want's that, because if he can do that he would do it like centuries ago.
His mind is now busy holing down Damons in Warp, there are rumors that he is healing Guiliman in stasis.
Other than that: he want to die because he probably know about Sensei plan and Star Child theory ( he probably feel the power that people are giving him with prayers, so he will probably use them to transfer himself to Chaos Gods level when he die. This is all just IMHO of course ).

The Emperor was already on the "level" of a Chaos God, in the Warp.

He was capable of devastating their realm before ever being interred on the Golden Throne according to them, which is a big part of the reason why they instigated the Horus Heresy.

Of course, this is fluff from Collected Visions, which may be rendered null and void by the Horus Heresy series.

China hasn't taken it over yet, but if trends continue it might. Has a while to go at the moment, but it is the fastest growing one at the moment. That is if they stop doing the same strategy they have used in the past to keep prices cheap within the country to promote outsourcing there. At least that's what they were doing last time I was paying attention.

Edit: Actually looking at that graph they aren't the fastest growing either.

This depends if China continues its economic malpractice or not. Artificially keeping they're currency weak ect, ect, exploiting the masses, ect, ect. China has large problems it still has to effectively deal with before I can see it taking a leadership position among the world's economies. Go to a major city in China then travel 20 miles outside of said City's limits.

On a side note im sure the emperor could negate the effects of global warming (or enhance them) using psykic powers. If he was to enhance them to a point where the planet would become barren and uninhabitable with extreme temperatures, would that be considered destroying it? Think about that for a minute why dont you.. Hah!

That's in GDP nominal. PPP per capita it's USA 15trillion China 11trillion.
nominal GDP is basically GDP when you simply convert it into US dollers.
GDP PPP is GDP that takes into account the whacky things that currancy does and is basically a much more realistic measure of economic strength.

We must bear in mind a few important things about That Black Day when Our Emperor (Bless His Most Divine Light) made the Ultimate Sacrifice for His Imperium.

First: The Horus Heresy was a massive assault upon Holy Terra, utilizing not only the resources of the Traitor Legions and their associated Titan Legions and other troops, but also demonic incursions from the Warp. This assault was an opportunity for the Ruinous Powers to remove the Emperor once and for all, and so they sent Demons to assist their assault. It is reasonable to assume that the Emperor's psychic might was occupied Interdicting the bulk of the demonic forces and preventing them from entering the Materium.

Second: Horus was a powerful being in his own right, and was enhanced by the Ruinous Powers. The fight with Horus was a close one, which the Emperor barely survived. Likely they sparred, not mearely with Storm Shield and Power Sword, but with psychic powers the fury of which could not be withstood by onlookers. I imagine those sacred few who accompanied the Emperor on His last assault were torn apart in the psychic tumult that parked that final battle as lances of psychic power flew haphazardly.

Third: The Astronomicon is a psychic beacon of such incomprehensible power that it can be seen in the immaterium across the vastness of the galaxy. This is no mean feat, and should the Emperor's attention falter, even for a moment, those countless vessels that tread the Void keeping the Empire's vast engines of war and commerce would be lost. For that reason, the Emperor remains focused on projecting His Holy Light, even unto the bitterest end for the Empire He has sacrificed so much for.

Fair dos, I was kind of aware there was a difference but I didn't know which was better or what, really. Anyway, the USA is still the world's largest economy, to top things off. In the future China may overtake it in these terms, but it wont happen likely for a good few years yet. Apologies for the de-rail, that's two mod warnings now, just stop this.
