I lost several of the small ariels that attach to the sides of Tau Firewarrior helmets this way, as a result of which several have no method of communication on the battlefield!

Gah! Hope you got it back. Was that the bomb in Oslo earlier this year?

i bet it was, or how many bombs going off in Norway have you heard about? Too bad they have a max of 20 years in prison there, that killer belongs on the chair (even though im generally against death sentence)

It's ok. It's better that they don't know that they're about to get furiously plowed over.

One of my pet hates when I am modelling is dropping a bit and watching it bounce off into the unknown, when it hits the ground. (so much time spent looking for bits - grrr)
So to counter that may I present the Crotch Guard (tm).
This heavy duty PVC apron catches dropped marine heads and orky shootas. It also catches shavings from mold line clean up when you are watching TV.
The clips fix to your belt or pants so it will stay in place and the pelican scoop at the bottom means your bits wont fall to the floor either when you stand up
Also gives my manhood half a chance should I drop my scalpel!

I remember dropping a couple of my bloodletter's hellblades on the floor. I start combing my hands through the carpet and my girlfriend walks in and sees me on my knees with arms outstreched combing the carpet. She asks what I'm doing and I reply praying to khorne to return the gift of my hellblades. She looks at me like I'm crazy, walks into the room and picks up the three hellblades I was missing. From then on I call on her and her sniper eyes to help find fallen bits.

I wish my lady could see have that good... soooo many much larger things she has misplaced and or lost.... and she refuses to take hints that she might need glasses.

I was brushing testor cement on a plastic model and it fell IN. I tried fishing it out but.... it was melting.
I paniced and just closed the lid.
Till today that bottle of Testor cement is the foulest smelling thing ever o_O

The workbench I use has gradually settled into the carpet over many years, creating a sinkhole around the floor around the workbench legs. This terrible beast has claimed many tiny pieces.
For added pleasure, the carpet in this room somehow manages to be the exact same shade of grey as GW plastic. Many backaches and cursing has been done in this room.
For an added bonus, we cut our dogs hair on the same bench, so at the moment it looks like I'm modelling furry Tyranids.

I work in an unfinished basement that has no carpeting, so when a small bit like a knife or a chaos icon gets dropped, I'm likely not going to find it until I sweep the whole room and find it (and many other strange things) in the dust bin.

When I was a kid with no knowledge of greenstuff or pinning, I spent literally days assembling that old 18+ piece bastard of a Slaan Mage Priest - you know, the one sitting on a throne being carried by 4 metal saurus warriors. I then painted the bastard thing and was exceedingly proud of it.
One of my more troubled friends was in my room, and decided to give sniffing glue a go. Whether the super glue actually effected his brain chemistry or he had a placebo induced fit of sillyness I'll never know, but his stupid capering knocked the bastard right off my shelf and he shattered into his component pieces. I couldn't find them all (my room as a half converted attic and I suspect many pieces fell between the floorboards or under the walls) and as a consequence didn't play Warhammer FB again until the release of the 6th edition Lizardmen book that let me run a Lord that wasn't a Slaan.

Worst mishap for me was spilling an entire pot of chaos black on beige carpeting. If I owned the place I would have said screw it, but it was a rental and I wanted my security deposit back. So 4 hours, a tub of oxy clean, and a lot of swearing later, and it was good enough that I got my whole security deposit back
