Phantom Hourglass was a great one! I loved customizing your ship and the Phantom Knights made for a unique challenge. Spirit Tracks however....meh, didn't even finish that one
And thats why I ended up beating the game 3 times That damn boat kept bringing me back. Never played spirit tracks however. *shrugs*

Well, you're not missing that much. I think I put about 45 minutes into it and never picked it back up. My brother finished it and said it wasn't worth a second play through.
...Yup, I'm going to get home from work and start Phantom Hourglass again. Thanks

My favorite was probably Link's Awakening, actually. I remember playing that far more than what was reasonable on that cinderblock they called the Game Boy. Close second is Link to the Past. I also enjoyed both of the NES ones. I feel that 3d link has always felt clunky, though I have both N64 Zelda games and have played Twilight Princess. I just can't get in to them, and every time I try, by the time I spend enough time remembering where I was, I get tired of the game.

Guess I'm just old school but I think the original is the best. In fact other that Wizardry (which I consider more of a RPG) it's probably the first real adventure game I ever played.
I had the twilight princess or whatever for the Wii, and I got bored halfway through and just kinda never went back to it.
Kinda interested in the new one, but I'll probably be getting Skyrim for my PS3 instead...

Ocarina of Time had several innovations (it and Mario 64 helped bring 3d into its own). The most important one probably being context sensitive controls.

Either Ocarina or Twilight Princess. Never liked Windwaker, I'm surprised so many people do. The Seasons one wasn't bad either.

My question still stands: Why do people NOT like Wind Waker?
Was it just because of the cel-animation? Or the boating???

It's too hard to pick. I'm torn between A Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, and Windwaker. All of these games were amazing in their own time and still hold up today. OoT probably has the most sentimental value to me though.
I'll also give an honorable mention to The Minish Cap. I thought it looked ridiculous at first glance, but Capcom did really solid work there. Maybe the best LoZ handheld.

I will never be able to love Majora's Mask as much as everyone I know does, due to one thing that happened.
I never used guides, and so I had to figure out all those clues the redeads or w/e gave you myself. After having been stuck on that whole thing for ages, I finally got to the last one. and you know what he wanted (most of you should)? A bottle of milk.
The milk you could only get by doing the whole lon lon (I haven't played in forever, is that the name or the OOT ranch's name?) ranch side quest. The side quest I never did after the first time because it was stupid and annoying. So I had to lose all my progress on the tunnels and do everything again.
I hated the game for that.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

Twilight Princess.
I really liked Midna. She was a good supporting character. At first she seems like a nonchalant donkey-cave about the whole world in darkness thing, but really you come to find out that she does feel bad for what happened to Hyrule and she wants to help.
The dungeons were fun. I enjoyed playing through them.

Seconded. Midna really made that game great for me. Twilight Princess carried more emotion I think than the previous titles. Serious emotion anyway. Wind Waker was very comical in how it dealt with that sort of thing.

It was pretty good other than that. Frustrating, but good. Keep in mind that had happened like, 5/6 years ago, before I used the internet for game guides

I have to say, I'm surprised that so many people enjoyed Wind Waker. While I loved the story (and the surprise twist that the world is actually Hyrule, just flooded over), I hated the boating part. I just hated having to spend a solid 15-20 minutes doing nothing but sailing in one direction to get to the next island. It wouldn't have been so bad, but there was next to nothing to look at but the ocean and the occasional boat and outpost. It just always bugged me that the game was only really long because of all the tedium involved in getting from point A to point B.
Although strangely enough, I did really enjoy Phantom Hourglass, which had one of the worst dungeons in Zelda-dom: a dungeon that you not only have to revist, but re-traverse every single floor several times throughout the game.

Link to the Past. I've played that game through so many times, it's sad. I've even played it through in one sitting so I get the little 000 after the credits.
Now playing the same game with my 7 year old, she loves it.
The only Zelda game that I've played that I didn't really like was Mask, but I didn't really have enough time to give it a fair shake. Now that my N64 is gone, I'll never know.
