Should make a Sm bike launcher w/ left over usless pieces. probably my worst idea yet. However it would be intersting to see what you come up w/. that or a bike transporter. Anyway, good work on Mother-in-law.
And a twin gatling would be pretty cool. I think theres better options for main weapons for a super heavy LR kit bash. Maybe on a razorback or rino though
Could always put the gatling cannons ontop of the LR you will be building as a mounted weapon with Sm's standing there firing them, say 5 gun platforms to "protect" the tank from swarms surrounding the tank, while your other 100,000.2 weapons kill everything else.

I was thinking of building disconnectable trailers for the back of the Rhino and Whirlwind carrying twin Thunder cannons. That way they can be quickly deployed where they are needed, unleash the destruction, then be moved somewhere else in just a few turns. Would require crafrting a couple of Techmarines to ride the trailers with them, but I think it could look good.
I do like the idea of a vhicle transport. Might be counter productive though as the bikes would move faster than a tank. I'd love to build a Thunderhawk, but thats a bit out of my league at the minute!
I hadn't thought about having Marines on the outside of the tank firing the guns. That could look quite cool. build up a couple of seats for them behind the weapons and use Bike Marines in the seated position as the gunners.

That would be sweet. like a mobile defense platform

Mm, never thought about bikes being faster than the transport. Good point Thunderhawk is an already existing unit, youd have to amp it up a lot, transport people a lr, and more weapons or something. Could make a terminator drop pod? that way theres no chance of their DS ending in a misshap.
And i never considered using the sitting Bikers, i would have wasted a standing marine. But why not fire from the comfort of your chair?! Good idea

Here are a few pics of the built (but un-painted) Whirlwind aka: The Mother-in-Law.
I decided to put a window on the front, as it didn't look right without, and some missile bay doors on the rear. Also threw in a forward facing storm bolter with heavy bolter sponsons. All together I'm happy with how it turned out. My first attempt at building with plasticard, and by no means the last.
I feel like it could do with some rivets, but as I don't have any (and really can't be bothered making them myself at this time of the night) it will have to go without.
Any comments / criticism gladly received.

I like the idea of doors on the back of the Artilary lift piece. Acts as a amo Sotre room and firing chamber, yet easily acessable on the battlefield for re-loading and sotring. Door on the front gives room for driver and gunner, unless its driver and gunner in which case...An amazing multitasker! then again its a Space Marine. Sponsons=Great idea, especialy if were assuming the Whirlwinds amo is long ranged and these act as defensive weapons. verry cool
Looking good, how much for 1?

Are we talking monetary value? If so, I don't really know. I used a bunch of spares I had left over. I suppose you could make one without sponsons for the price of a normal rhino and sheet of plasticard.
If you're talking points, I really have no idea. Wouldn't know where to start counting!

Cheers bud!
I built a small spray booth today so that I can base coat my minis without having to tape a layer of newspaper all over my bathroom when I need to get it done. I'll post pics next chance I get. The Mother-in-Law looks good painted black, but I think I'll give it the same colour scheme as the rhino. Bertha will be staying mainly black though. Looks more intimidating that way I think.

Work on my minis ground to a halt in late November due to various things going on in my life. Then I moved house over the Christmas break, losing most of my modelling kit in the process. The biggest heartache came when i finally tracked down Bertha (and the parts that had broken off/gone missing in transit). Attached is the picture I took between silent sobs.
On a different note, I started painting the Mother-In-Law before I moved. Didn't go well. Pics to follow. I'm not feeling the white parts. Mainly because when you see it properly it's all over the place and patchy. Might just paint over it in blue and leave it at that.

Working on the dozer blade at the minute. As with all my stuff its taking forever cause I'm cack handed. New plans for Bertha:
Penis enlarged demolished cannon on the front.
Ditch the twin las cannon sponsons.
Ditch one of the twin heavy bolter turrets.
Ditch the predator turret.
Fit split dozer with bottom spikes if it looks good.
Build up extra bodywork on the top, essentially doubling the height.
Fit mega mega big tank/titan/planet busting cannon on top.
Sit back.
Grin.
Automatically Appended Next Post: I'm taking the pictures in poor quality light, with a poor quality camera phone, with zero talent when it comes to picture taking. Apologies for the poor quality. I normally work in the dark. Being ginger, I burst into flames under direct sunlight.

Got the current bits taped together to check sizing on the main cannon. I'm happy with it so far. Going to take a lot of work to make it look right though. Any suggestions/criticism very welcome. Been doing my head in today trying to figure out what to do and how!

If you can make it shorter now i'd go with shorter by an inch or so. If your going for a very big vindicator look, which is what it will look like with an inch or more off. Angle it level to the ground if you can that would look better, don't like cannons that point just a little up seems wrong some how.

Last night I mounted the tank buster into the top section. It pivots too! Tonight I should finish the construction of that part.
The dozer blade I wanted to fit looked rubbish on Bertha, but the two parts from it would fit the rhino and whirlwind quite well if I ever get around to doing it.
Got a couple of dreadnoughts on the way, so work will begin on those when I have chance.
Pictures will be posted when I've made a little more progress!

Bit of an update. Making progress on the dozer blade. Have decided to keep all the heavy bolters and the las cannon sponsons, those need repairing and re fitting though. I've got a rivet maker and plenty of modelling putty on the way, so building up the details when they arrive over the next few days or so.
Any input would be cool. Let me know what you think.
Apologies for the poor picture. Lighting is pretty low right now.
