I guess using colored primers and washes are unfair to other people too...

But.. who cares? It's not like it's a competition to have nice looking models on the table. May as well say that Inks and Washes and Weathering powders are all cheating because they're unfair to the guy who wet-blends all of his highlights and shades from a wet palette.

They seem to get a very good write-up wherever I see them mentioned. I'm keen to get my table set up again!

Thanks for the linkys Scipio much appreciated
Going to have to try them out
Used some Tamiya Liquid Surface Primer the other day as I was unable to spray outside. Was thinning down with Humbrol Liquid Poly and need I say anything about fumes?

These could be a real boon

except the adhesion to metal seems not so good.

Sounds really good trying to prime in summer here you don't want to know about with 70% (dry day) to 100% percent humidity but with 90% to 200% in winter now hmmm.

Yeah, I saw that as well. I'm hoping to get a chance to do some painting on the weekend. I've got a metal treeman I might use as a test model with the brown. Put some on a leg or arm or something and see how it goes - though it's so heavily textured it might work fine as opposed to a smooth space marine. The other thing I might do in some cases with metal models is prime lightly with a spray, then go over it with the Vallejos when appropriate (coloured ones, anyway) as a kind of first basecoat.

Fluid ink, so you have time to erase or tactically smudge writing while wet, as well as allowing it to penetrate crevices smaller than the pen tip. They come in other colors, as well, and several tip sizes - I use my black 005, 03, and 08 for everything from general blacklining to purity seal/scroll text on my marines to checks and dags on my Goffs.

Yeppers I second the Pigma Micron 005 #1 archival ink pen with a 0.20mm wide line. I use it for all my 'little figgys' writing on them. It's also damn useful for vehicle warnings.

Not to mention using store bought paints and brushes instead of making your own with hand ground mineral powder and egg white.... how unfair...
