I am not an occupy protester. I just don't like it when people with a clear lack of knowledge on the subject matter chose to spout what they've been hearing on their local fox affiliate. I don't even like these protests. I don't like protest movements, they're either utterly false like the tea party or constructed out of people with no idea what they're protesting like the occupy protests. You're just combating their ignorance with your own though, and it's not pretty.

Also, I rather despise politics so "where the left stands" means little to me because my attention span simply will not let me soak up any of it. Although, I do recall a fine gent who told me lefties are kind of like people who put your car on cinder blocks, or something of that nature.

You want to make sure that the government supplies healthcare, social security to the elderly, and supplies welfare. Okay that's understandable, but you don't want everyone to pay for this, just the rich.

You want the government to supply construction jobs to repair the country's infrastructure. Respectable, but its not giving out wealth its only moving it around and right now we need something to generate it.

You rally behind a veteran because he received brain trauma at a rally for disobeying law enforcement. Later turns out the guy was dishonorably discharged supposedly for smoking crack, what a rallying figure that I can get behind.

You want the government to force cable news networks to give free air time to political candidates if they receive enough signatures on a petition. Okay but the government doesn't have the right to influence media like that. You're fighting for a state controlled media while fighting against the state controlling your own voice. Make up your minds.

This movement boils down to "We want more money and hate those who have it.". It also seems that they want to make everyone somewhat equal in income, but instead of making the poor richer they want to make the rich poorer which is kind of like Zimbabwe compared to Liechtenstein or Switzerland.

Actually, McCarthy pretty much reinforces my point. He was able to create fear of Communists because they were a marginalized fringe group. Today it's not surprising (nor difficult) to find proud communists on a college campus.

Can we all calm down.
