I may have to get the Prone Greedy Witch and use her as an objective marker for my DE.

Being anything else is far too close to effort for HMBC, and apparently none of us are worth his incredibly valuable time.

Yeah, that was aimed at the story and model. For the most part I respect HMBC, even I don't always agree with him.

Honestly, the story comes off as pretentious, vicious, and petty while trying to make it look sympathetic by being funny. The model is alright, pretty simple, could be useful for D&D and other roleplaying games, or if you just really hate the Greedy Witch

For the ones that don't really get what this is all about, I think it can be summed up by:

^ Or, instead, perhaps someone could bother to spend a sentence or two explaining the in-joke that 50-80% of the people in this thread don't understand?

Then again, this is Dakka, so this thread will probably reach 5 pages and all that will be posted is "it's funny if you know the story", "you're better off not knowing, it's not funny at all", "I know the story lol", and "Durr Greedy Witch = Games Workshop, how stupid are you not to figure that out?".

Durr Greedy Witch = Games Workshop, how stupid are you not to figure that out?

; )

Bottom line (details have been posted on page 1)...

Guy works on GW's Blood Bowl game for free. Apparently does a ton of great work for free. Some say the game is revolutionized (exaggeration). has a HUGE online following. He never gets any real credit.
GW allows it. Enables him. Even cooperates.
One day, they turn a 180 on him and kill the whole project.

Those are the very basics.

Magic has most of it.

Tom was part of the Rules council for BB with Jervis and some studio guys and a few others.
He ran the Chaos Cup in Chicago for many years. It was one of the Big Four BB trophies.

He also re-formatted for 6th edition the original rulebook to incorporate the changes that have happened over time.
This included shuffling where the artwork on pages was, as sentences were added here and there, fixing up the layout.
He finished that and handed it over to GW.

If you download the pdf of BloodBowl from the site, that is not what you get.
Some of the rules were incorrect in the pdf as a result of GW's re-touching them, and Tom let players know what the intended rules were, so tournaments use those rulings.
Then GW dissolved the Rules Council that had existed since before the Specialist Games banner.
And attacked all websites that were promoting the BloodBowl game.

These actions pissed off a large number of BloodBowl players.
I know a fair number of those in the midwest, and they were not happy people.
There has also been talk of a parallel ruleset, basically a re-written Bloodbowl that tweaks the rules back to what the Rules Council had wanted.
