Dear People Who Pretend to Talk for the Entire Country,

We get it. You can't compete with conservatives in the realm of ideas so you'll simply attack people for a gaff in a debate. You'll denigrate conservatives as hicks and rednecks while defending the idiots you elected to run this country.

We can survive 4 years of the current guy, but really, 4 more years would just be awful. Please take him back Chicago, the rest of the country doesn't want him.

Thanks
People of the United States.

See, isn't that totally unhelpful and a waste of time? So why don't we focus on stuff like actual issues instead of running around calling other people and their politics idiotic?

Maybe its could be as nasty as Illinois politics is corrupted.

Because calling other people, and their politics, idiotic is easier, and therefore more accessible.

Politics isn't necessarily about engaging with plebes, its about making plebes do what you want.

This is a shining example of that rare trifecta of originality, topicality, and sterling wit!

Hell, he couldn't hurt Perry much worse than Perry's done to himself at that point!

I have no love for Rick Perry, but I think our system is failing a little when campaigns can crash and burn over minor flubs in silly, dog-and-pony-show debates that the media stages and covers in all the wrong ways.

Are people supposed to think that Perry will accidentally eliminate the wrong government agency? Isn't this supposed to about a) your ideas, and b) your ability to govern? I say that knowing how incredibly naive that sounds, of course.

Seriously? he can't remember his OWN lines that he's practiced over and over.
I'm worried about him remembering which button he's supposed to push/push only in an emergency!
How would a man that can 'oops' in such a manner act in closed meetings with other world leaders?
I really feel he's not capable of the job he's applying for.

I wonder how you feel about the Telepromptor in Chief.

I find it strange that he stated he wouldn't advocate cutting the EPA when on the spot, but that he's cutting the departments of education and energy. Isn't killing the EPA a wet dream of Perrys theoretical voter base?

I find it interesting that even for all his gaffes Bush didn't ever throw his hands up and just implode like that during a debate and/or press conference. He may have hemmed and hawed, or inadvertantly said something hilarious, but he never gave up. So, yeah, I think it is fairly indicative that he is not ready for the job.

Yeah, that's what was so strange.

In other news, here is the campaign spin.

Well as long as we exist in the hyperbolic realm of glenn becks toilet bowl, what are you looking for in a president? Keep in mind, the rules of bias chicken is that you have to keep going further over the top of the last time. You've implied that Obama is a ghost written hack who is an unintelligible mute when he's not in front of a scrolling text wall, so I'm expecting something pretty impressive from you!

Yeah, seriously. Remembering lines doesn't really have anything to do with governing, and it's not like nothing he said was insulting or scandalous.

IMO, people on both sides of the political spectrum find debates to be worthless until someone on the other side makes a small "error" or displays some personal behavior that people latch onto (Gore "rolling his eyes too much", for instance). Then suddenly debates are HUGELY important and telling about a candidate.

It's beyond silly to me.

I'm not sure I've implied that Obama is a ghost written hack, nor that he's an unintelligible mute (not sure if that makes sense). I do think that he's a idiot of below average intelligence with funny ears and who doesn't realize when he's being controlled.

He was referencing Bush II, we shouldn't pretend that a majority of states voted against him and the electoral college magic put him in office through voodoo.

Technically speaking, Al Gore got the majority vote, and it was in fact the electoral college which was the reason Bush won.

Note that I'm not saying Gore would have been a better candidate, especially given how his politics have turned post-election...

The 2000 election was proof the electoral college works. But I doubt that concept will ever click with you if it hasn't already.

I'll note here that if you bothered to read my post (you didn't), you might notice that I didn't take a position on whether or not it "worked", only correcting you on a basic fact which you got wrong.

Ill note here if you read my previous posts (which you didn't) you might notice I said a majority of the states voted for Bush II hence the electoral college didn't use voodoo to make Texas' vote against all the other 49 states. Its ok I don't expect you to read for context. It might take too much time away from decrying the Nazi Christian Republicans who live in your neighborhood.

While the water shed issue was Florida and it's, what would you call it? "irregularities" the fact that Gore won the popular vote and lost the electoral college is basically the exact scenario the college exists for.
