Diablo III is already good though. Story we have no idea about apart from Azmodian and Belial are coming with their demon armies.
And the Angels are going to reappear. And the sin wars are going to return.

I am very traditional about my fantasy games, the Monk and barbarian are sort of interesting, but barbarian wouldn't have changed much from d2's (least that I suspect), the demonhunter just seems to be going for mass appeal with its neo-style 2 hand crossbows (can you picture trying to reload those while firing? yeah, ridiculous...), the witch doctor looks like a meth head... so that leaves me with the wizard which i'm generally "bleh" about. I want to play as the templar cohort more than I want to play any of the core classes.
Give me back my paladin and necromancer and i'd be happy lol

Paladin was op in battlenet. Smiters pissed me off. If anything give the paladin new abilities in the expansion which they are going to do.
Necromancer was kinda annoying to face.

I was never a big pvp fan in diablo 2, so I didn't care about imbalance or anything like that, to me it was more about class abilities and style :p lol

I don't think so. I think it's more to do with the colors than the brightness. Hopefully the modding community might make something to fix the issues. I know they've done similar things to WoW.
Honestly all the second images just look lie they lowered the brightness options on the game I don't see why the mod would be necessary.
You can't see sharpness from the way blizzard has it to the "touched up" screens that other people posted? Blizzard's new art direction is a lot softer around the edges and with very little dark grit gothic feeling that they once had. Look at the stones on the first picture, the touched up pics, the bricks are a lot sharper , likewise the outdoor shot , the touched up the grass is a lot sharper and clear vs the blended/meshed grass from the blizzard product.
I had another screen shot that I cant find at the moment that showed the fire effects and how they are and a touched up one that made it look WAY nicer... i'll see if I can dig it up.
edit:
here it is
VASTLY different, it's not just "lowering the brightness"
I seem to recall blizzards response to this was "We just can't do it" or "With this kind of game set up those visuals are not possible". Utter tripe says I. A mod could fix it.

That is complete and utter tripe.
Path of Exile (early beta game play)
Grim Dawn (completely alpha footage)

I think they are too busy to meet the deadlines and that would be a complete reworks of some parts of the engine, and then also reworking just about everything.
I am fine with it looking brighter. saves me the trouble of increasing the brightness

It's blizzard, they don't have deadlines. Diablo 2 was in beta testing for over two years. (at least the blizzard of old... this new activision greedy blizzard is a whole other beast...)

I’m in the same boat as the other people regarding class choice in D3. Aesthetically, they’ve gone for some weird classes being the Monk, Witch Doctor and Demonhunter. While it’s understandable that they tried to go for something different this time around, it’s still a swing and a miss for me. Aesthetically, only the Barbarian and Wizard fulfil classic fantasy arch types.
Out of the Barbarian and Wizard, I’ll probably roll a Wizard. As someone who specialised in Paladins and Necromancers in D2, hopefully one of these classes make a return in an expansion.
Also is there any word regarding what the drop rate is like in D3? The drop rate in D2 was notoriously punishing and it would normally take multiple play throughs (with multiple characters) to adequately tool up 1 character (which is why duping items and open battle.net was so popular).

All the classes in D2 will make a return in the expansions. Which there are going to be alot of. But it won't be like wow. Its going to be like sc2.
But D3 you can complete it and kill diablo, but apparently you will become a legend and you can go to more places and explore sanctuary more. Then etc. etc. etc.
D3 is going to be massive compared to D2. I actually am fine with a larger place to roam.

I mean seriously which D3 fan won't?
I mean the regular gamer won't. I am even if my money is tight.
I dunno i imagine the head is pretty weird like a paper weight and the shard usb seems to be the only thing good.
I guess people will pirate and pdf the sound track and art book >.<

i like holding the stuff in my hands.
And plus we also get cool gear as well. Which you can't pirate. You can try but blizzard will find out hahaha.
Then also we get some cool other stuff like how they made it and tons of other extras on d3 disk. Apparently.

This is what Blizzard said in regards to the Diablo III art direction in the Lore & Environmental Art Panel:
Skip to about the 21:00 mark to hear it. To paraphrase, the designers talk about how their memories of D1 and D2 were that they were dark and gritty, but that when they actually looked back through the games they found much more color than they expected. They also say that they looked at horror movies and noticed how the color was used effectively to create mood, and that they're following that design path with Diablo III.

And you think me, a Dutchy was? It was up on gametrailers 5 minutes after they showed it at Blizzcon. Youtube isn't a good site for following new games mate
Anyway. I prefer the gritty ones too, just feels right. No clue if I'm gonna get this on day 1, pre-order bonusses for WoW are always junk for me anyway so don't care about that either.
They should just add a toggle in options that says: ADULT MODE!
