Horus. For the second most perfect being in IoM, he totally got played by a few joes and his own ego. Not to mention "theres to much paperwork" crybaby attitude. Oh and how when someone accuses your father of treason you kill half the galaxy and attack him. USE YOUR WORDS!! - psyklone

Hah funny. I remember the last time they did that a few days later they clarified that whatever cool bases that were on the blog were actually made by whatever company.

I wonder if they'll do that again?

Reminds me of the War Altar with the AoW Warrior Priest. Which promptly got taken down once they noticed it.

I also think it's pretty hilarious that many shown units on WNT have huge amounts of unit fillers.

I'm no law dog, but couldn't this be seen as GW promoting and encouraging use of competetors models/accessorys? Seeing as the article is specifically instructing the readers of the merits and acceptance of the practice? Someone call chapterhouse...

There are no other companies. The seen models are converted from GW parts. GW is the only manufacturer of quality hobby items in the world.

It would be a great day when all those companies that are so worried about banning things would rather instead look at this hobby in a overall wider picture... Its not just GW that excludes pretty much anything these days... In my starting experience in 15mm scifi the ranges the companies and the rules game publishers create things to be inclusive of many different ranges... its all, at the end of the day, on players therms to choose what they do see fit for their games and that its acceptable for everyone involved... Its time 28mm market players take back the hobby from those silly companies that try to limit options and judge players for their free thinking...

I think you're over playing a point here. 28mm wargamers have control of their games. I think it's reasonable for GW to demand that if you play in their stores (you know, the place where they gain money to put food on their tables) you have to use their products. When people see well painted GW armies being played with in the store, it's form of free advertising for them, why should GW provide shelter, scenery, lighting and advertising for other companies products?!?!

Now, if, as a gamer, you chose to play in independant locations, then you can use what-ever you want to play WH or WH40K, the choice is yours.

I'm willing to bet, that if any other gaming company invested heavily to provide specific gaming / stores on a global level, they'd also restrict the type of products allowable in their premises.....it's just logical

It would be logical If my comment was just aiming at GW...But the truth is many do follow, to some extent, this exclusive policy...

Ok, I focused on GW, because they're the obvious culprits, but the logic flows for every miniatures games manufacturer. Unless they exclusively make miniatures or games and not both. I wouldn't expect PP, Corvus Belli or any other company to actively encourage gamers to use other miniatures for the games they provide.

Your logic is based on how most 28mm companies choose to implement the biz model GW started... what I'm saying to you is there are other models... also there's a big difference between Encouragement and banning.

Choosing the examples you gave I'm going to present you with the biz model I'm talking about... A independent company puts out some rules for generic scifi and advices gamers to use the brands they like ( miniature publishers support these rules), a player picks some mercs, infinity and antenocitti models ands builts up a force, another player picks some PP warjacks and builts his force and both play that game...

I hope that guy doesn't plan on using the Thirster in GW tournies. Since he used Balrog wings on it, it's illegal.
