When your opponent fires at Warlock + Farseer unit, which happens
1) He declares firing at the Warlock unit and you get to allocate wounds to the Warlocks and the Farseer.
2) She delares firing at the Farseer unit and all wounds go to the Farseer.
The Farseer joins the unit. The unit does not join the Farseer. New unit means the fortuned old unit does not exist any more.
Look at the opposite happening - you fortune Warlocks + Farseer unit and in your movement phase the Farseer walks away. Do you know have two units fortuned? No, only the Warlocks are fortuned because you fortuned the "warlock unit."

IIRC you choose which have fortune when you walk away ... as it was 1 unit. This should work in reverse also.

NO such rule exists, is the point.
When the farseer leaves the unit retains fortune, because he cast fortune on the unit not himself. There is no choice involved here.

So which unit gets fortune? Both can't have it, do you roll off? They're not the same unit they were so you can't say it stays on the original.

They were the "warlock" unit, because the IC joined and became a "normal member" of that unit. So the warlock keeps it
THats being generous of course - the other interpretation is that as soon as he leaves fortune goes entirely.

Maybe I mixed it up with an INAT or other ruling. We've always done the "Choice" locally so it's now dug in like a tick lol.
However when an IC joins a squad he's not a "normal" member.
