As for me, I bought it when on sale after watching TB & Jesse play through it. So far I've found a slight exploit. Your characters can spawn in any world you create, so you can create two worlds and ship stuff from one to the other. So now I have a small world for Hardcore and a large world for my main (and not Hardcore). And it works - shipping all the ores over from the Hardcore to the Main has gotten me Adamantite armour and weapons, wings, and most of the goodies you get from Mimics.

I made night's edge after I beat WOF, and it's totally worthless. I'm a little mad.

I'm using a Breaker Blade that gives +3 melee speed, a titan glove that gives +3 melee speed and Feral Claws that give +3 melee speed, and it's pretty much the best weapon ever, combined with cobalt armor. I'm also using a Daemonic Clockwork assault rifle and a 'masterful' doom scythe. I'd say my gear is pretty good, but I still die all the time.

You can also use your worlds on a multiplayer server, so if you need lots of something, or help beating a boss, throw it on there and load up

The Night's Edge was the best sword in the game before 1.1 came out. SO you can assume before you beat the WoF the Night's Edge is the sword to get. Once you beat the big boss you can upgrade something else. I've got myself a Red Phasesaber that does the job Once I get Excaliber I'll sideline it but until then, funtimes.

That's not an exploit. That's how it's intended. It's basically diablo 2 on open bnet.

Did it, regen pots and shadow did the trick, the guide didn't even say go for the arms which I found interesting.

omg, just accidently had the guide doll drop into lava. WOF when I was scaving for hellstone/shadow chests.

dammit. *grumbles*

If you're having trouble with WOF, try flattening out the underworld. If you remove all open lava, it's a lot easier. Start the battle at one end of the world too, and work your way back to the hellevator. If the battle goes past your hellevator, you're too slow, and should reconsider your method.

Looking back, when I did it the first time, I used:
Doom Scythe
Minishark with silver bullets
Molten Fury with hellfire arrows
NO melee weapons!
Thorn Chakram
Full Molten Armour
regeneration potions
ironskin potions

Literally the highest tier gear available, so it wasn't very hard. I only really used the megashark while I was waiting for my mana potions to become available, and Doom Scythe most of the time. Doom scythe is fantastic, although you have to kill a LOT of demons to get it. I didn't get it until AFTER I had got a full molten set (which took forever)

Terraria decided it didn't like me anymore.

It spawned me in the Jungle area on 2 bits of normal grass, safe to say I deleted the world and restarted.

LOL I got deamon scythe after my 3rd demon kill. I'll be working on my WOF arena as I go, but I now have full molten, a flamerang. I am yet to find a compass (for GPS).

What does it cost and how much space does it take up? Will it make my computer lag?

$10, but cheaper on special. About 7mb. Not if you're running anything from after 2005.

you can't get one until you beat WOF

To be sure. My old computer lagged sometimes on Minecraft and ran Terraria fine, if you can run Minecraft without any lag, should be absolutely fine.
