For that purpose its just as easy tomake your 2ish dreads scroing leave em at home and then have 1-2 solo pallys who can ds in. OR bring them along in a sr and use them to help hold forward objectivs and have a solo pally walk in from the table edge and go to ground.

The enemy of my enemy is a bastard so lets kill him too.

exactly . 2k points is just enough to run 2 deathstars in stormraven , one with draigo the other with a librarian having an additional 5 paladins in each sr. you leave 2 dreads and a vindicare back at home while you go flat out first turn and get shrouding for a 3+ cover save. when i run this tac i almost definitely get a turn 2 assault with one of the death stars.

the list is simply
hq
draigo+librarian
elite
vindicare
troops
paladinsx2
heavy support
psyrifleman dreadsx2

That is almost identical to my list I ran in yesterdays tourney and took first. In a few of the games with a ton of objectives my oppoenets laughed at the size of the army till they got tabled. Then I told them guess I only need to hold one.

hq
draigo
Libby
Elite
vindicare
troops
2 5 man pally
fast
2x sr with mm and plas canon
heavy
1x psyfleman
2x stock dread road along in sr

definitely a fun list to play, tau might ruin your day tough but i agree it is a real scene when 6 terminators enter a gunline and just cleave through everything, + points if you have apot.

personally i would go with:
crowe = 150
2 5 man purifiers squads = about 300 in total depending what wargear but psycannons are a must
LR crusader + MM=265 as the multimelta is essential
vindicare assasin = 145
DK with greatsword = 155
total = 1000 but then librarian ,rhinos and termies can be added to bring to 1500+
