More fun; do that often enough that every barista there knows exactly what you want.

I tend to order a black coffee wherever I'm buying, and yet have received no convulsions. Am I doing it wrong?

Try it in the states maybe? All depends on a person really. You have your hardcore coffee drinker thats straight black and dark enough to stick a spoon straight up in it. Then you have all the Foo Foo coffee kinds and there's your one cup a day drinker because caffiene is bad.

I can drink coffee black, but I prefer to have heavy cream in it. I don't care if there is sugar in it or not. My family grinds the beans themselves.

My favorite types of coffee are Colombian and Hazelnut (!!!!) made by bucks county.

Pfft. I do believe that the only beret I own I can directly blame you silly Brits for. Much as I enjoy having a wet maroon sheepshide on my head in the sweltering heat of the summer...you could have kept that gak to yourselves.
On the subject of trendy...
Sometimes my wife stops at the store on the way home. The other day I asked for black tea with orange and she returned with some "private reserve" foil packeted nonsense that cost us 5 dollars for 16? Bags. The next day we went together and I found what I expected: national cup 100 bags for 1 dollar. They taste the same...I don't understand people sometimes, I also happily bought 1000 so I don't have to go throughout this again for a couple months.

I Hate coffee. The very Smell of it makes me nauseous. I worked just shy of ten years filling vending machines, and that included coffee machines. The freeze dried decaf was the Worst. That powder gets on you and it doesn't come off very easily. Worst yet was if you inhaled it it would just stick up in your nose. I'll take a bottle of pop over coffee for my caffeine fix when I need one.

That was my first thought, but with the different ways and types of coffee people like to enjoy, the first eighteen pages would be people complaining about the options.

Once had some-one ask if I liked my coffee strong, to which I said 'yes'... then proceeded to put cream and sugar in it.
They said, 'I thought you liked it strong'
My response was 'I do... But I don't like it Black.'

One of my favorite people in the whole world once leaned over to me and said,
"I like my coffee like I like my women: Black and bitter"
to fully taste the depth and complexity of his comment its probably important to mention he's one of the most ardently racist white men I've ever met. I've never even seen him speak to a black person.

Black and bitter.

Like my soul.

My morning heart starter is a double espresso.

No sugar/artificial sweetener or milk/whitener of any kind.

I hate the taste of bitter, so my morning "coffee" is a nice, cold Mountain Dew.

I don't drink it much, but I do go for the chilled, sweetened coffee drinks. I go for the McCafé drinks in the summer from time to time (I know, I'm uncultured ).
