Deathmarks are finished. I think they look OK but these guys were also a victim of the bad spray primer. You can tell on the close up, the colors are just a little off.

ouch, they do look a bit roughed up. They look nice so I wouldn't worry too much. Great work on the ark and marks! I can't wait to steal a few of your ideas on your ark console (like more than just one color for lights) on some of my arks when I go back and do more touch up work on stuff.

Yeah, the metal and dark gray weapon all blended in to one. I need to get another can. Dont want to risk ruining the Monolith and Destroyers. And steal all you want. Some of my best ideas were blatantly stolen from other Dakka members whose skills far exceed mine.

I finished the first 3 Destroyers. I plan on a Destroyer Lord and 2 or 3 more of these guys. They are the only Necron models I ever liked until the new ones came out. I got some new spray and spared myself the mess the Deathmarks turned into. I may go back and put on some markings from the transfer set. Ditto with the vehicles. Ive also actually read the codex army section a few times. I think I will go for 20 Immortals and 36 Warriors instead of the 10/50 I was planning. Besides the Immortals are sweet looking.

I got one of the Crypteks and he was a complete mess. I guess its my own fault for not better inspecting the Finecast. The staff was a total loss and the casting stinks. He is salvaged about as best as I could. I painted more of the Lychguard's shoulders, I think it looks etter. Shoulder pads only looked kinda, frail. I did up the Command Barge Overlord, he will serve in the court and probably lead the Lychguard. Immortal models are great. I continued with the theme of little color for the lower ranks.

I love your work mate, I don't know which staff that cryptek is supposed to have but the destoryers look extra impressive.

@runmymouth: Not supposed to be any staff in particular. It was just the easiest way to salvage the trainwreck of a model.

Just a quick WIP shot of the Monolith. I wasn't too sure about this guy but he is turning out ok. Haven't decided what to do about the Eternity Gate thing. Lots of work still to be done. Anyway thanks for checking it out and Merry Christmas!!

And the Monolith is finished. I decided to just paint the gate as black as I could. Figured it is just a void anyway.

Nice! I like how the 'Lith came out, the portal representation was a great idea. There's no way to make the crystal less...solid-looking? If you understand that at all?

Great work on the monolith! If you need a staff I think I may have an extra one floating around from the lychguard boxes. You will have to cut a hand off but it will look more correct than a void blade. Just let me know and I will mail you the piece.

@Odd one out- Thanks for the compliment on the portal. I was thinking people would consider a black void an easy way out. I hear you about the crystal. I may buy another one from a bits store and try again. The only other thing I tried way extreme highlights. It was a no go.

@runmymouth- Thanks for the offer sir, but it wont help. The cast was so bad even the arm was messed up. I chose that weapon because it has a fist. I really need to pay attention to the Finecast guys before I buy.

@Old Man Ultramarine, Flying Poo, and Anpu-adom- Thanks gents.

@Blood Genisis- Thanks and thanks for dropping in.

I have an army shot here and am pretty pleased with the way they look together. I have another 12 Warriors and 10 Immortals I am building now. After that all I have are some Praetorians. I hope they were serious about a quick second wave. I have almost run out of new Necrons to paint. Thats ok though, I am one step closer to realizing my Pre-Heresy dream.......

awesome! i bought some necrons about a year ago and started painting them the exact same way i wasnt sure about the blue but now that ive seen yours i know thats the way i want to go, only difference is that my whole army is the sandy bleached bone and the higher up ranks have white on them, but it looks great fantastic inspiration for the rest of my force, THANKS!

@Leviathan18- Thanks, I think your idea for the white will look sharp.

@IXBEHEMOTHXI- Thank you sir.

@Thatguy91- Thank you as well.

So I finished up the last batch of Warriors and Scarabs. Not much of an update, I know, but hey, Happy New Year!!

Great stuff! If I may, I think an oil wash and some very, very minor sponge chipping could go a long way on the white areas... not ott, very subtle, but I think a little more definition and aging could be added pretty easily that would up the ante on your great scheme and work so far!

Happy new year!

So I finished up 5 more Immortals, good times.

@MajorTom11- Always nice when a MOD drops by. As for the chips and such, I am working on that but not for these guys. I am too far along and am afraid I will just screw something up. I got a bunch of weathering powder and have been reading articles on damage, wear, paint chip applications, and plan to use it on my Pre Heresy marines. Thanks for the advice though.

I really like your force! Your color scheme is simple but unique, and the use of minor highlight colors helps differentiate the HQ's and fancier units from the rank and file. The basing is well done too (and matches the color scheme nicely to boot).

Me, I can't help but make almost every single unit a conversion... and that's why I have a bunch of unpainted Warriors and Scarabs, while you have a field-able army!

Keep up the good work!

@Razorspirit- Thanks

@catharsix- Thanks, your army is looking sweet. The things you did with the conversions, especially scarabs, really make your army unique.

@tarnish- Thanks to you too sir.

I finished up the Destroyers. Im pretty happy with the overall look of the army. The hell of it is, I ran out of models. I guess I have to wait until the 2nd wave rolls out.

So I got more guys. The C'Tan shard is great and easy to build. He was one of the few original Necrons I was ever interested in. Of course I screw up the Storm Lord's staff. At least the Cryptek came out ok. Praetorians are going to be colored same as the rest of the army. My idea of giving them a separate scheme fizzled out. I guess if they were hanging out with a Dynasty for a million years they would adopt some of the colors.
