The first reason is why mars presents a potential problem for colonization. Solar Radiation, even accounting for the greater distance between the sun and Mars, would be encountered in amounts that are harmful to life. All the other problems with Mars can be potentiall fixed, but not this one. Temperature can be raised by releasing all the CO2 locked in the polar ice caps, Plants can create a breathable atmosphere, but the Solar Radiation will be a problem.

In addition to this we don't even know if it is made of solid rock or liquid or even gasses. Try landing on that planet

The fact that it has a temperature of 22 celsius rules out some of the worst case scenarios.

Depends on the planet's volume, since gravity is a function of density rather than mass. Doing some (very) quick math by the estimates they gave, the gravity there should be about 5.5 times stronger than ours. Fairly brutal, but humans can survive worse. Landing would be a pain in the ass, of course.

You should do the math by assuming a similar density to earths but if it is "mostly rocks", that is not a heavy iron core then yes, density would be lower.

Even if only 5.5 gravities we are screwed, our pilots are especially trained to withstand those forces and only by wearing special clothing and lying in specially designed chairs. 5.5 gees is nothing you would be able to walk in or even remain conscious under for long.

I'm not too sure on this but i have an odd felling something bad would happen to them in our gravity...

Not to mention they would probably go flying everytime they jumped or kicked. Their muscles would rip their bodies apart.

Isn't the moon 1/3rd of the Earth's gravity? I'll grant it's not a 5x difference, but it didn't tear the astronaughts apart, right?

I do recall reading about the cosmonaught that spent a year in space having problems with muscle atrophe (spelling?) and loss of bone mass...

But we're off topic!

Will they have beer on this new planet? Or do they only drink wine?

I'm not too sure on this but i have an odd felling something bad would happen to them in our gravity...

Their hearts and circulatory systems would probably kill them. Just like ours are evolved to pump blood up to the head at 1gee standard are seriously screwed up att zero gee but theirs would be 4-5 times as bad if visiting us.

I cant imagine what problems such a civilization must face and solve simply having to manage to send someone of theirs up in orbit.
An almost impossible feat using chemical rockets not to mention what a zero gee space walk would do to their physiques being accustomed to 5-6 gees.

The Astronaughts had already spent a good deal of time in space and had training so they would limit the muscle action needed to perform an action.

This is what causes the muscle atrophy. The muscle isn't used as hard and starts to wither. its why they exercise on tread mills while strapped down and the lift weights with bungee cords.

assuming the aliens had trained to work in a lower gravity enviroment they would be ok as long as they didn't try and exert themselves too much.

The main problem is moving to a higher gravity enviroment. Then you experience increased pressure on your circulatory system and will have extreme difficulty moving.
