Hi, sorry to break up your argument, but I just wanted to say that I like the list.
However, I would really, really advise the harp. Just think of your worst case scenario...

BW rush!!! First turn your Solar Pulse is useless, and your lances won't be able to crack the AV14 on the front, even with the rerolls. IF you position your troops on the very, very edge to try and get a few extra shots, you still won't be able stun enough to not make T3 hurt like hell.

Termis-Crusader is viable at 1k, however, your rapid fire should take care of that. A unit that can counter assault would be excellent, especially considering your worst case from above^. Maybe some Lychguard? Or even better, upgrade your overlord to the Traveler, and then you get some fancy Eternals. That also gives you some defense against IG pie-plate spam, and the arrow is nice.

You will do fine against hordes of CC, DoA might be a problem, as will deathwing.

JGrand, did they get you a shiny metal for your accolades that you can hang on the refriginator for the hole family to see?

It's "whole" family and "refrigerator".

Sarcasm much? While were flashing "credentials" I have a BA in English, the misspellings were intentional. Let it stew around for a minute, you'll get it.

MSS won't matter if the Crons are charged. A good player isn't putting a powerfist next to the MSS Lord. And if the Cron player is good they won't be initiating the assault or in this case bad and taking Gauss so they cannot assault regardless they won't be charging to make use of MSS. So a normal guy hits D3 attacks on his Marine bros and does nothing. He then attacks again. Nothing of note is changed. I'll give you that it might force another save and bring the Marine casualty total to a whopping 2. So the Crons lose by 2-3. It's still a dicey LD test at 7 or 8. And a sweep they will lose.

That's not true. The MSS'ed guy doesn't get his attacks. The crons only maybe lose by 1 or 2, and all this in a highly unlikely scenario where the assault squad attacks the shooty Immortals unscathed. This is exactly where theory crafting on the interwebs fall short. More likely they have been whittled down a bit, and jsut a bit is all the crons need to win that combat. Strawmen don't win arguments against the well informed.

Just like your strawman about killing the crypteks with an Alpha strike. With the Solar Pulse on the list the chances of getting a true alpha strike are extremely slim, and like Bond pointed out, the WHOLE unit has ever-living.

Are you sure the MSS stops the target from getting it's attack? I've been thinking about it and can't figure out if it does or not. I have the french codex so maybe the rules are more clear in english.

Would it be better if the immortals were split into squads of 5, with 1 lance cryptek each? Which would enable me to get a squad of whatever instead of the lords and have them run around with a VoD cryptek (10deathmarks for example, with a VoD/2+ flamer cryptek that unit would wipe out any infantry squad in one turn, more or less,

The only problem left would, AS ALWAYS, be AT or more precisely AV14 because 4 squads with 5 gauss shots and a lance shot should handle anything but AV14 pretty well.

Personally with the initial concept of the list I like keeping them in groups of 10 with the orb. I think you trade too much survivability with crons when you MSU the troop choices.

Wait a second... did you just openly admit to an illegal download and ownership of a product of Games-Workshop that you didn't pay for? Good job.

Anymore incriminating evidence you wish to share?

Yep, I just didnt think the GESTAPO was on dakkaforums. And if you want me to develop some more, a long time ago in a galaxy far far away codices were 17.5 euros. Today they are 26euros, which is one FAT increase. I will not pay for codices that im not sure to use at that price, and Im happy I didnt cuz I had one look at it and decided that I wouldnt be needing it. If youre not happy about that, call the FBI, Goebbels.

LoL what an angry little kid. Dakka actually doesn't support nor advocate it's members talking about or advocating that kind of behavior because GW actually does patron the website. And your "excuse" holds little water to validate your illegal download. Go to your FLGS and look at the codex there and see if it's worth buying. Just because it's not convenient doesn't give you the right to pirate someone else's work.... no matter how much you might not like Matt Ward.

And getting pissy with me over your mistake, not mine, is no reason for you to lash out at me. Just because I called you on it doesn't make me the bad guy. So save your German slurs and such for your own friends, they don't belong here.

JGrand outlined a lot of good points, and his list was significantly better for a TAC list. Sorry Bond, but your list is not good.

Jerk or not, His advice was sound, and well thought out, and you should take it, if you want to build a solid Competitive TAC list.

Not sure what it is I like about it so much but really think it will be more competitive then most are thinking. I just think those 30 T4 3+ w/4+RP (or 4+/ w/ 4+ RP) wounds will be a nightmare for anyone to take down. Most people stack anti-tank weaponry which is inherently inefficient (per point) for taking down troops. Play smart, stay in cover, and I think he'll do quite well.

The SP makes it even more so as it makes the chances of being hit by a full alpha strike very slim. Roll off a competitive list against his and allow for reasonable destruction from the teks and glances from the immortals.

For instance, JGrand was pumping up his DE list. I'm pretty sure one of his Ravager's and on wyche raider would be dead after turn one, the other ravager and wyche raider would be dead after turn two, and then its crons vs poison weapons. I think the crons win.

A fully volley from one venom will only kill .667 Immortals. A fully volley from a Ravager will only kill .41667 immortals, assuming cover. That means a highly unlikely alpha strike from a very competitive DE list will net about 3 dead Immortals.

The list is unconventional don't get me wrong, but it forces your opponent into a war of attrition that statistically most lists can't cope with.

His advice was good. His list...meh, suck on the wraithwing tits, the scarab farm tits, the tesla tits, and you get a winner? Well see in good time what works and what doesnt. Also, come 6th ed theres a chance some will curse the gods for getting tesla on their immortals. Im still gonna make some changes, but those wont include scarabs just because a bunch of warhammer internet black belts said that scarabs should be in every list or that you have to make your list 100% anti-tank. And yeah, nobody seems able to see it, but wraiths die against bolter fire quite easily also.

That being said some good points were made.

His list was not "meh" He took several of the best elements of the Necron codex, which include (Unsurprisingly) Scarabs, Wraiths and Tesla. If you don't like scarabs, that's fine. They are still the best Anti-tank in our codex. Wraiths are also excellent counter assault. I don't know why you think a Model with two wounds and a 3++ that can pull wound allocation Dies against bolter fire easily, because they certainly don't. Wraiths are also the best counter assault units we have, and are extremely quick.
