I've enjoyed the hell out of 5th edition, and I'm happy to see a new edition with all the changes that will bring. I liked 5th more than 4th in almost every way, and hope that continues with 6th.

Every codex after Imperial Guard was supposedly designed for 6th.

Before msu mech took over, it was basically mech or parking lot, with horde orks trying to keep up and tyranids asking 'why us?'

After 3 years of seeing maybe 3 different styles of armies, while playing an army that is horrible vs mech & has the game's worst deployment rules, I'm more than ready for a change! I mean, when was the last time you saw a tactical squad with a plasma gun?!

This sounds more like an issue with your Local Area, than with 5th edition.

I'll Echo Brother SRMs thoughts, I've really enjoyed 5th, much much more than 4th.

Also, brother SRM I could have sworn it was every codex after Blood Angels, was Designed for 6th? I think everything after IG would be much too soon, 5th had just come out.

I'll agree with your comment about the guy's local area - I wouldn't blame 5th ed for making them hyper competitive players, I would blame them for going in that direction. 5th sure as hell hasn't made me and my friends more competitive. Glad we're on the same page

It might be after Blood Angels, but IG came out almost a year after 5th. Come to think of it that does sound a bit too soon, but that's what I heard. Maybe it's every codex after IG, not including IG? Who knows.

Whatever the schedule and I agree that 5 codices in that time frame is hugely unlikely. It would have to mean scrapping all WHFB releases for that period. I'm pretty sure they have a finite ability to turn out models and that limits their release schedule. Might be wrong but there you go!

I would put a small amount of cash on Tau being one of the releases next up. I think this because I reckon Tau are probably languishing sales wise and clearly need the boost of a new codex. They are uncompetitive, manageable if well handled but start at a major disadvantage. With Necrons done Tau are the obvious choice. The Eldar codex is competitive enough in comparison and I have heard that GW consider it so. I would not expect to see Eldar til after 6th ed. Likewise IG.

I reckon the next three will be: Tau, CSm and BT. I would not want to guess the order but I think Tau are ready to go whenever (and yes they do make the figures well in advance, Necrons were supposedly done and dusted months ago). I have no basis in fact for this, simply what I think is likely.

that would still make 4 as you would definately have space marines next year.
