As i wrote earlier, i belive the rules are pretty clear on this topic:
If the players need to measure a range involving the embarked unit (except for shooting), this range is measured to or from the vehicle´s hull.
As written, it is indicated, that if a non-shooting attack is to be resolved, this can be done "to or from the vehicle´s hull", including the Hood´s powers.
- Regarding arguments that the unit isn't present, as it is removed from the table, when embarking, it also states that:
When the unis embarks, it is removed from the table and placed aside, making a note or otherwise marking that the unit is being transported ...
I cannot find anything that contradicts, that the Hood is able to affect units Embarked in transports. Only that this powers range is measured from the Hood-Model to the Hull of the Transport containing the model.

Suddenly, if this becomes viable, my 2-seer Eldar list will have a lot less jetbikes and a lot more WS. Can't block it cause I'm in a vehicle? YES PLEASE. And, since RoW doesn't "block", a vehicle wouldn't stop that.

Both players should be using the least durable units possible, with the house rule that all players remove an article of clothing every time you lose a unit, and take a drink every time you kill one of your opponent's units.
I have no idea which army will be triumphant, but I can assure you that everyone wins.

I suggest (mis)reading the SitW FAQ answer to mean that if the Tyranid is embarked (wth?) SitW does not work.
What?

You will be hard pressed to find any TO in their right mind that uses the Shadows precedence as a means to nullify pretty much all psy defense in the game.
Hey now. I would absolutely do that playing my friend over beer, but you can't in a tournament. I think most of agree the ruling is stupid, but you can't just go around ignoring official FAQs.

Sorry, you must have taken that out of it's intended context. The FAQ only applies to SITW so at tournaments they are hosed, but a TO won't use the SITW ruling as a precedence to effect all other hoods/RoWard etc. Poor bugs are the only ones that get the shaft, though when I play them in friendly games I ignore the SITW part.

Well, we know that if GW ever does rule on it, they will allow hoods to work in a transport. Why? Because it's mostly Marines that have hoods and they're not going to screw over Marines.................

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.
