I think a Battalion of guardsmen on a settlement that loses communication in the dead of night that has to fight a legion of necrons. It could be a very good balance between action and horror.

The nice thing about necrons is you could treat it as the old fluff (warriors and flayed ones coming off as mindless drones) and still have an overlord leading them be their "voice." I mean, I don't picture the warriors being as chatty as say trazyn lol
