Well RITides has pointed out what a single unit did to me at Cap City Alamo. I won't underestimate them again, but certainly when I imagine facing three units of four, I'm kind of at a loss...

The impacts and stomps auto-hitting really adds some nice reliability to the mix, and they kill enough models on the charge that for someone like dwarfs, you're vulnerable to not getting many swings on the counter-attack.

I was going to say 50 pts is pricey, but they are basically 7 more than Ironfists for +1 armor, -1 LD, no charge and the ability to have a mark, which pro-rated among a block, won't be so much.

A bit over-priced, but it shouldn't be cheaper than OK, anyway. I think maybe concentrating on making them an anvil may be a cheaper approach. Drop the GW, grab Nurgle.

Same concept as chaos knights IMO: huge damage potential, but significantly neutered if reduced prior to hitting combat.
Past that I think they are hard to deal with because the only combat units that most armies have with enough oompf to deal damage to them will have greatweapons, and that means they won't have a parry save, and the Mournfangs will strike first... Which ensures the cav will lay waste to you prior to going down.

Fantasy: 4000 - WoC, 1500 - VC, 1500 - Beastmen
40k: 2000 - White Scars
Hordes: 5/100 - Circle of Orboros
